Default Before They Were Coaches. Great reminder of the SEC Coaches origins.

Great reminder of the SEC Coaches origins.
Pardon me if this has been previously posted.

Interesting read. I always thought Nutt was an Arky grad, guess that explains a few things.

That is pretty cool... I forgot about Spurrier kicking a field goal. Can you imagine if something like that happened today? I don't think coaches would let a star player (no matter how good they were) do something like that.

My mouth about fell out of my face when Chad Ochocinco kicked both a field goal and a kick off in one of the preseason games this year. And that was just a preseason game.

I didn't realize Nutt played at Arkansas. When I saw that, it kinda occured to me they have a knack for getting some odd named players at Arky more than most schools---Nutt, Casey Dick, etc. I seem to recall they had some player named Smelly as well. I'm too lazy to do the research, but it sure seems like the Hogs get more than fair share of "interesting" player names.

Nice find by the way---thanks for posting.

Interesting. But this is the first time I've heard that Spurrier "waived off" the starting kicker to make the FG against Auburn that won the Heisman trophy for him. My understanding is that the question was whether to try a FG or not since the ball was out of the starting kicker's range. Spurrier convinced Graves that he could make the FG from that range so they went for it and he did.

You're right..I stand corrected. I was unsure but somehow thought he was hog. I know they had some other goofy named player though...just can't recall.

Don't remember Gene Chizik at all at UF.

And did Meyer get any playing time against UF when he played at Cincy? Is there any footage of that game in circulation? I think we had three RBS go over 100 yards in that rout.
