the facial damage done by the assault committed by our Sweet-Baby Brandon Spikes.

From the very beginning, the one missing piece of this controversy has been the appearance of the victim to both show his wounds and to tell of how excruciating the pain was during this so-called brutal attack.

I have not yet read even one comment from Ealey about what supposedly happened here. Neither have I seen a single picture that shows any kind of facial scratches or even slightly red eyes.

It may have been Sweet Baby's attempt to gouge the eyes of the evil running back from UGA but I still believe in innocent until PROVEN guilty.

Either bring forth the victim or dismiss this case.

This is a stupid post, sorry. It would be like someone firing a gun at someone else and not getting a punishment because they missed. You might not give that guy the same punishment as if he killed his target but you sure as hell wouldn't let him off without punishment.

I really don't understand why everyone is trying to hard to justify what Spikes did. Yes, we all know what happens under the pile, but that does NOT make it right.

Given that Ealey wasn't injured in any way, is it not more likely that he was wiping spit on him rather than gouging his eyes, which he could have clearly done if he wanted? Why do people ignore that nobody playing the game alleged that Spikes did anything wrong at the time? Nobody needs to "justify" what Spikes did because he didn't really do what the whiners claim he did.

I agree. It is an egregious offense to reach inside someone's helmet. He should be kicked off the team for reaching into someone's helmet. For all we know, he could have been planting a bomb in there.

My opinion? I think he was trying to put a hand in there to poke him in the eye. I don't think he was trying to rip his eyeballs out or anything... but even a small poke can mess up your vision for hours... certainly long enough to impact the game. And that is inexcusable in my opinion.

I just think it is crazy, given the nature of football and what we all know happens on the field, to try to make statements like "Oh we don't know what he was doing... maybe he was trying to wipe spit (LOL?! REALLY? Come on now...) on him.

Spikes is a linebacker. He gets poked, kicked, hit in the groin, spit on, etc all game. I'm positive he does it back. That is football... but it isn't the good part of it (in my opinion.) I don't think we should gloss over it and say "That is ok... EVERYONE does it." Even though they do, they shouldn't.

No what I think is crazy is for anytime something is shown on the internet for it to get blown all out of proportion. Are we going to start suspending people everytime a sports picture shows up with somebody doing something wrong? Where will this all lead? People will be scouring over every piece of video they can find just to get something on their least favorite athlete.

Sorry... but no. He was blindly putting his hand in there. He might not have been TRYING to pop the guy's eyeball out, but it definitely could have happened. To tacitly say "Ok, we see you did this, and we know everyone does this, so its ok" will only lead to tragedy eventually (in my opinion.)

As for finding pictures on the internet, maybe if players didn't break the rules, they wouldn't show up on TV stuffing their hand in someone else's facemask. It doesn't matter in my mind that "everyone does it." It is CLEARLY against the rules, and when you have an egregious example of it like this, there should be consequences.
