Find some stats that support it then!

I would be willing to bet that you could find *some* evidence that some people do better under pressure situations, but it wouldn't be that significant.

IMO, the problem is as much not having the experience of a close game as it not knowing how to win.
So you would rather have close games than winning by +20? The problem I had with our last game was not that we couldn't win a close game or the shot selection down the stretch, it was how we let big leads evaporate in the last part of both halves. We scored 11 points in the last 10:50 of the second half....11! The first half was even worse with 9 points the last 11:20 of the half. Put them together and we scored 20 points in over 22 minutes of the game after building big leads. That's where the game was lost, that and freethrows.

Correct, players as a population do not play any better or worse in pressure situations. However, that does not mean there cannot be statistical outliers.

I don't think our players get worse in pressure situations but rather we play differently. We'd suck all game if we played the last couple minutes all game. Our offense totally changes. The end game offense is hero ball with contested 3s with no ball movement.

To sum: it isn't that we aren't clutch but rather we play differently. If Billy told them to run the same offense as normal with 25 seconds to go we'd have close to the same success as if we were running it with 15 mins to go.

The question is why are we a different team.
