2013 OL Laremy Tunsil of Miami FL
According to Zach's twitter...
"5-star OT Laremy Tunsil now has a top 2 of Georgia and Alabama.
He said Florida is in 3rd place but no longer a favorite for him."
What happened that makes him so in love with the other 2 schools?

I promise you guys that Florida is NOT out of the running. I'm his first cousin and I am sure that we are still in it as musch UGA and AL. He is hell bent on taking advantage of his visits and also is sorta dienchanted with UF right now b'cuz he's from the area and knows that they will leave a slot for him no matter what. So relax guys, relax.

Obviously it is some combination of: confusion; doesn't like UF that much; doesn't believe he can start here.
UGA- 2 OTs 2010, 3 OTs 2011, John Theus 2012. He'll be "the man" of their 2013 class.
Bama- 1 OT 2010, 1 2011, 3 2012, 1 JUCO 2013.
UF- 2 OT 2010, zero 2011, 1 2012(2 if you count Dunker), 1 2013(72nd ranked OcJack).
Maybe he feels he can't even beat Dunker out for a spot should coaches look to him for OT. UGA looks to be the toughest place to earn a spot of the three, and Bama's probably going to land a guy or two next year(2014) that will give Tunsil a run for his money as well. Bama landed three in their last class that all were ranked highly enough to be competitive. So I don't get it. But I will say I'm over the guy and hope he has a dismal career elsewhere.

Why would he be disenchanted with UF? What you're saying, if accurate, sounds like he's stuck on himself and at the same time is taking UF for granted.
But if you are his first cousin, show him the depth charts.

yeah he's a high schooler....right now UF isn't looking so hot and desparate. We win a few games, court a few other 5 stars...he'll come around
much like dating hot girls these 5 stars

This really isn't much of a surprise. And again, he doesn't make or break this class. All we really need is someone to start opposite of Humphries... If Tunsil doesn't want that, then we don't have room in the program for him anyhow.
We have 2 very solid scenario's that have Ira Denson flipping from FSU and/or Trent Brown flipping from UGA. We can also hope that Kenny Lacy decides to visit.
I would say maybe if Rod Johnson had grades by the end of the year we would take him, but I am sure that Johnson is pretty disenchanted with UF atm, as well.
The OL positions won't be shored up until NSD... Best thing to do is wait and see... We did that last year and it didn't work out the way we wanted it... but we still got Humphries and Dunker.
This time around we have a couple of inside OL in our pocket... all we really need is a solid OT who can play next year. Brown would be an immediate starter and has JUCO experience. He is the most logical. But getting Lacy on top of that would be nice for depth. If Denson did flip to us, then I'd say that our inside OL is solid and we wouldn't have to add another in this cycle.

most everyone has been saying that uf is not one of his top choices. this just reaffirms it. like valdosta, lake city does not send players to uf. it is a mystery

I understand this kid is good, but we did get Humphries and Garcia to man the line for the next few years. It does hurt if he goes to Bama or the Mutts but let's not lose perspective here.

There is a certain excitement about leaving home and getting off to a big school like Bama or UGA. It makes for great press if you are a big star. But after you sign it dies down and the media leaves. I was never a college athlete but did leave home to go to college. After two years I transferred to UF so I could get closer to home. Heading home on some weekend's was great and I'm glad I did it. If I had to do it all over I would have never gone to far away.

Disappointing that another great Florida player is thinking of leaving the State to play. After career is over, playing for UF would help in the business world in Florida. Quite a few alumni in Florida he could leverage from a future business perspective after playing career is over.
I just don't understand why OL recruits are not coming to UF. All these programs have signed significantly more players on the OL than UF these past few years. We have massive depth issues and kids could move to the 2 deep depth chart immediately. With Patchan and Nixon departing at Tackle, someone like LT could come in and play quickly.

No doubt, hard to figure. Would love to know what it is coaches are pitching that players are buying into. I guess I can see the Bama thing more than UGA with Tunsil, although I wouldn't trust Bama's staff to look out for me. But UGA has hardly proven to be a better place to develop and launch an NFL career over UF.

How old is this video? I hear him mention Derick Henry being in Gville. Too bad we told DH he cannot play RB in college.
