While I was in high school, I was a gator fan....BIG TIME!! However, i had nothing against FSU. I would cheer for them until they played the Gators. However, after getting out of the service, Fsu was opening their season against Houston in the Gator bowl. I went to the game and was pulling for FSU for about 15 minutes. Instead of the FSU fans supporting their team they were using all of their energy insulting the Gators and their fans. Since that date I for whoever is playing them. I hate Auburn but would for them over FSU. They suck! My oldest son had the same thing happen when he went to one of their games with a friend. He came home and said he would never pull for those pukes again. It was for the same reason.

Same experience here. It was the early 80's and I was young and didn't know any better. I always loved the Gators but had absolutely no ill-will toward fsu...even wanted them to do well when not playing us. I went with my family to one of their games back when Greg Allen was their big star.
I noticed right away that a very large portion of their fanbase if not the majority actually hated UF more than they loved their own team. Yes that's right. At a game in which they were playing some metro conference cupcake and UF wasn't even remotely involved, their fans spent all day whining about and insulting....UF! Amazing! Even when they were winning big in the 90's they weren't happy if UF did well. They are quite simply THE most envious and bitter people I have ever seen.
I wish them nothing but failure and humiliation. Its what they deserve.
