Kasey Hill is smooth and relaxed driving the ball. A good short shot and his threes if we are comparing what happened last night, couldn't be worse than that. So make all the excuses you want, he is coming to take over running this Gator team. You need to wrap you head around it.
Scottie is a good player, I like him with his effort on the court. If Kasey doesn't take over we will continue to lose close games on the road due to him not being assertive enough to get what we need. That is not only defense but being someone you have to be aware of at all times when we have the ball. All the opposing teams with a pulse have to do is block him in the middle. His one three looked to be a prayer. The other team's shooter who lit us up was getting open deep and shredding the net. That is an offensive threat. Scottie has to prove he can do this on the road whether it is driving the hoop or shredding threes. It is a game of points of which we have come up short on the road again!
If you want proof that Kasey is the real deal, people make a living scouting recruits for teams, for the media and for all star games. kasey is one of the top pg's in the nation by everyone in the know in college basketball. I guess since you have probably seen him have a bad night at the gym, you think he is only a decent guard. LOL
Watch the McDonald's and Jordan All star games. The truth will be on display.

for the past hour I am trying to think of better defensive PG's over the past 20-25 years and I can't think of one. MAYBE Greg Anthony or Gary Payton
although I think SW is better in all aspects of defense than either......can't believe I'm saying that but after tonight I'm starting to go there
so I'm digging a little deeper and taking defensive perimeter players that were outstanding
Stacy Augman (#1 on my all time list of perimeter college players that I have seen)
Grant Hill
Ray Allen
Shane Battier
Wojo and aaron craft (if I have to)
all players who won national defensive player of the year (other than allen and craft).....SW is playing at a level equal or better to any of them
this is something special......

If he leads us to a title then maybe a tie. TG did it twice and he did it with more but he was so improved from the first 2 years it's almost like 2 different players. SW still needs a lot of work in working the ball inside and knowing when to hit the timely 3. He also needs to work on his dribble....Pressy ran circles around him last night. I don't remember every game TG played in but he sure turned it up in the tournies.

Hill is the real deal, but he's not a shooter.
Wilbekin has played phenomenally lately and had one sub par game. Hell, in this "sup par game" he still shot 50% from the field, had an A/TO ratio of 2, and hit a clutch three to put us up one in crunch time. Give me a break.

Kasey Hill, has a little Rondo, Paul and Kidd in him. Just one of many comments people have made about him. Not a shooter, well, every highlight, aau game I have seen he is elite and scores at Will. Is he only a 3 pt shooter, no, he is a scorer. Dunks, shoots long or short shots and threads the needle. A great athlete who I hope stays more than one year at Florida, but Bradley went in the first round. I believe the NBA won't be able to contain their excitement once they see him play.
The only person ever to keep Michael Jordan from scoring, was his coach Dean Smith. This is a joke in North Carolina from people who played at North Carolina. I believe Billy is going to be in the same position. We are lucky that we will get at least one year from Kasey. I believe he will be the goto guy we have been looking for. When he steps to the FT line he will be automatic. His 3 pt shooting will be good but his smooth drives to the hoops and assists will make everyone in the Gator Nation smile like a cheshire cat.
He is so good, that Chris Walker wants to play with him and Chris is a great talent himself. The PF Billy is still recruiting Randle will be playing in the McDonalds and Jordan All Star Games also. We can only hope and pray that Kasey burns it up with great positive reviews. Maybe he can bond with Randle and help him see who the good guys are. I remember Vernon Maxwell being recruited, the number one player in the nation. His athletic nature was off the charts, Kasey is coming in with the same freaky athletic ability. Billy knows he got a stud, if he doesn't start, I will be in shock!
I haven't been this excited for Gator Basketball in a long time, no disrespect to Bradley. Great PG's are gold. Scottie Wilbekin is still improving, but elite natural talent, just like Chris Paul who I saw grow up in Winston-Salem, NC, great kid, natural leader and a true pg who's skills were off the chart. Kasey reminds me of him. I can't wait!

I like Scottie and I won't denigrate him or anyone else for having a bad game. I do, however, look forward to having a guard that can do what Kasey Hill can.
I also look forward to Damontre, DFS and Chris Walker. I think we'll be a better team next year, because of some very talented additions and we have more than enough coming back to mesh with that young talent too.
That's no disrespect to this year's team. I think they're doing a super job and playing at a high level, especially when you take the injuries into account.
