Yes, but he's a bigger and better prospect, plus we already have Brantley who is at least as good a prospect as Gilmore. The coaches might be working some JUCOs that we haven't heard about. Seems like Jacobs didn't show up on radar until about this time last year.

LSU was pretty much a given in this. He was 75% sure to pick LSU. No surprise mere.
He didn't play us, he was looking at immediate PT, and the one thing he, and anyone on the UF staff, could not be absolutely certain about, is Sharif Floyd going pro.
He probably will, but the fact that LSU loses more off the DL practically ensures he plays immediately at LSU.

Do we have depth or quality recruits at the DT position? Seems like DT is a need position to me and don't see top players looking at us.

I don't see us bein that bad at DT. We are going to a more 3-4 scheme. We have Orr, Jacobs, Quinteze Williams, and are pretty sure Brantley sticks with his commitment. Ivie as an early enrollee and being as strong as he is, may also play on the inside. On the edge we have Bullard and possibly Easley (doubtful) returning, with Kedrick Johnson at SSDE, with Riles also coming in. Weak side we have Fowler, McCallister, Cox, with possibly Elijah Daniel coming in. Buck we have Ro Po returning, with Fowler, McCallister, and if Sherit can get healthy after his ACL tear, backing him up.
I think our D line with Bullard, Orr, Fowler, and Ro Po at buck, would be pretty sweet. On definite running situations, switch out Ro Po for Jacobs, for added bulk.
If our LB commits stick, I am not too concerned about them as long as Morrison and Taylor can put on some more weight. If we are moving to a 3-4 though, another LB recruit that can play a more inside position would be nice. Trey Johnson would be nice. We could have Morrison and Taylor play the two inside LB positions with Ball and Kitchens at Strong side, and Powell, and backups already listed above under the buck section. Throw in studs like McMillan, and Hearns who are big enough for the inside position, Jerami Powell who redshirted, and Quinton Powell who likely needs to red shirt to get bigger, and I think we are fine at LB (if we can flip Johnson from Auburn.
If we get a JUCO DT or Adams (unlikely), Daniel, and Johnson we would have great depth. Our CBs will be amazing, so i wont mention them. But our safeties are a little undersized and inexperienced. Gorman, Saunders, Showers, Ledbetter, with the addition of Neal, and Washington will be adequate, but with his hard hitting and his size, Harris will be a nice get at the safety position. Either way, with the secondary coaching, we can improve by the time the year starts to a strong force at safety

I remember a running back committing to Florida then on signing day, have a newspaper story with his picture in front of a bar announcing for LSU. I believe it was Faulk.
Shady at the time. Now Gilmore, the coaches seem like family. Bull, it is just another big time SEC west school pulling out all the stops to get him. You just have to fill in the blanks. Where's the mother that is outraged. Not, she knows what has happened.
Florida is used more than any other school in setting up exposure for kids to go to a school that is not on the up and up. Florida is straight up so if the kid is considering Florida and education is important, then when student athlete picks a school that has offered more than we have, it seems legit.
I always love hearing, well we were a close second!
