The first list were not the top shelf players and three of the best QBs we ever had.
The second list were highly ranked studs.....with Tim Tebow being the outlier, and I would say Leak was only because he won the national title (but probably under performed overall) The rest in the second list didn't live up to expectation or were outright flops....

Are you effing kidding me man? Chris Leak has passing records at UF, huge victories all over his career beginning with his freshman year, an SEC title and a national title. Underperformed? What are you smoking on?

Ratings do have some use, but nothing is "certain."
For example, if you have a kid in the top 25 overall, they have about a 70-90% chance of contributing substantially during their first 3 years.
A kid between 26 and 75 has about a 40-70% chance.
A kid between 76 and say 150 has about a 25%-40% chance.
A kid beyond 150 has perhaps a 0-25% chance.
However, a large number of kids in the 150-300 group are going to contribute significantly, however, this is a large group (as many as the 1-150 - so recruiting efficacy is dependent on the insights of the recruiting staff.
You either trust the coaches or not. It appears that Muschamp and crew may be pretty good at this.
