Aren't we getting a highly ranked recruit next year? Or maybe she's already on campus?

GatorCountry is the best Gator Sports board, and also the most conservative.

we're poised. just have to get over that last hurdle.
all other gator sports can be argued we're at the elite level in almost all of them, if not all of them, except women's hoops. but we're poised to take it to that next level.
i think the gator brand - and resources, etc can help once we show we can play w/ the elite programs. we'll attract the best of the best soon after. but the gator women's BB program, right now isn't there to get the best. we need to build the fanbase to help in that matter. one win at a time. one fan at a time.

A transfer student/player for sure, but not sure about the new/freshman recruits. I like what Amanda has been doing these last two years, and think she finally has the Lady Gator BB team on an upswing.

Well, I, for one, am an advocate of Moral Victories. Heck, Moral Victories are almost as much fun as Immoral Victories, and a lot more fun that Amoral Victories.

PORT ORANGE — With a lift of one of three hats Ronni Williams sent Atlantic Gymnasium into a frenzy Friday when the state’s top-rated girls basketball player picked Florida over Georgia and Florida State in front of the entire student body.
Williams, ranked 13th nationally by ESPN, had her pick of every school in the country, except UConn, but wanted to help the Gators and coach Amanda Butler win a national championship.
“It was just where I felt comfortable. In 2013-14, we’re going to get Florida a national championship,’’ Williams said. “Both of them (Florida and Georgia) are great programs and I wanted to play in the SEC.’’

UF is where it has been for the five years Butler has been here... a middle of the road SEC team that will be on the bubble come tournament time.
Not saying that is a bad thing as Butler has improved the program since taking over for Peck. But, the program is stuck in a "just above average" mode and it will be interesting to see if this staff can get the program to the next level.
And back to the OP, the only statement made by losing at home is that UF still has a ways to go.

I think the glass half full folks (me included) see a young team with better players competing against top tier programs now on the court with improved recruiting that is getting better each year.
The program is on infinitely better footing than it was a few years ago and the trajectory is still upwards. This is the down year based on the who we graduated, the age of our roster and what we have coming in, and we are still doing well relative to previous years.
I am firmly in Amanda's camp, it has taken her several years and may take a couple more, but she's done a very good job the right way - especially given where the program was when she got it as well as our WB history and support (or lack thereof).
