...by at least 13 points, last 9 by at least 16 points and 12 out of 17 wins by 20 points or more.

Anyone think our most recent success, after the two losses has a lot to do with Scottie taking over most of the PG duties?

UF first team to start 7-0 in conference and win each game by 15 or more since UNLV in 90-91 and some other team I forget (mid-major or minor).

Are we this good, or is the SEC that bad? To be 7-0 is incredible- but to have 7 blow-out wins... I don't know how to process this.

It's a lot of fun but I worry we are not getting better. We are not being pushed or being put in tough situations and teams need to be pushed and tested. (I'm a worrier.)

A recent example was 2006 Ohio State football. In hindsight that team was very good- but their easy Big 10 schedule never forced them to improve and once they played a real team they lost it. Meanwhile we had a bunch of tough games and improved a great deal during that year.

Again- are we that good or is the SEC this bad?

Now that Billy D has finally realized that Boyton is not a PG (thank God) - nor was Erv Walker, or Teddy Dupay; the Gators have settled into a solid methodology.

I am going to post a thread on PGs when I get a chance to put it together, because, although the BIG MEN get all the press, your PG determines how well a team functions and is quite simply THE MOST IMPORTANT POST TO RECRUIT.

I think that we're 7-0 proves that we're pretty good and the fact that we've been blowing teams out by so much means that the SEC is down. So my answer would be "both".

This is such a silly premise. Boynton was running the one because Wilbekin missed the start of the season for disciplinary reasons and thus much of early season practice time and game time was spent with Boynton at the one. Furthermore, when Wilbekin isn't on the court, Boynton still plays the one.

Walker was always a one. Dupay was never a one. The only reason we played him there was to get him and Weaks on the court together in 99-00 and we abandoned it from there.

Maybe Donovan will finally figure out his system and find someone who can shoot off the high ball screen like Wilbekin. Oh, wait; Wilbekin has yet to do that all season, which again maybe explains why the staff might like a Boynton who potentially could hit the most important shot in our entire offense.

So the major question for me with this team now is can they win a close game. The two games they were challenged in they lost both of them. Every win has been comfortable. Will this team be able to grind out a tough game and win it...you know that will happen in the tourney so I'm hoping we will have a couple of nail biters to prepare.

One thing that absolutely can not happen in a close game is the free throw struggles we saw last night.

Both times this team was really tested so far, they folded.

Hopefully, they just continue to blow teams out.

The Arizona game came down to an incredible shot by Mark Lyons over the outstretched hands of Young. While there were some breakdowns in inbounding the ball which led to a flurry of turnovers - two by Rosario and one by Boynton in the final minute which hurt our cause- Boynton also missed the front end of a one and one which basically sealed our fate. It wasn't out night.

I don't think the confluence of events can be summed up as indicative of a team that can't win close games.

In every single game this season -- even the two losses -- we've held our opponent under its season average. This defense is special...despite the down year in the SEC.

As for close games, those will only occur if we are cold from three point-range. In that situation, you need guards who can drive to the hoop and either score or get fouled. That's not Kenny's game, so we are very reliant on Scottie and Rosario in a close game.

I'd also not expect to see Patric and Will together at the end of a close game. If anything, we might see an offense-defense switch of Patric and Frazier/Prather, where Murphy slides to Center, and we have five good free throw shooters on the floor.
