I think two silents on defense would mean Harris is definitely in (which is awesome - I know they guy hasn't been talked up lately, but he's a stud). No clue who the other would be - don't think it's Anzalone, don't think it would be Adams (we were on the outside so long). So that leaves, who, Gilmore or DeMarcus Walker flipping from Bama? No matter the combination it would be a HUGE get for us.

Anzalone was the only defensive committed prospect in the 2013 class at the game.

Yes, but we consider him an OG prospect so the defensive commitment thing would still hold.

My bad brotha man. I didn't see the defensive word there. I thought u were talking about overall commits from other teams.

His ship sailed a while back. He's all Bama.

It is that time of year - not fall, not Halloween, not the election but the good ole silent commitments. I don't think we have any. We have 5 spots open and we have about 12 4 and 5 star players we are after. WM is putting together another great class so I figure if we keep winning we may have more than we can take. I think in Feb. there is some major decisions to make by him. How can he limit it now? Why be a silent commitment?

The "Why be a silent commitment?" question is pretty easy. Lots of kids don't want to have to face pressure from their friends, extended family, or community to change their decision (say, if you were a blue-chip from Bama that decided you wanted to go to Tennessee). Maybe you think you won't get to take the Official Visits you have lined up if you go public. Maybe you still want to be wooed because you like attention. Maybe your mind is mostly made up but you don't want to be belittled on the internet by people like you and me who will trash you if you back out of a commitment. Maybe you're a liar. There are as many reasons as there are recruits.
I think certain spots are already limited. How many safeties do we have on the board after Marcell Harris (Shaq Wiggins?)? How many guys like Adams, Walker, or Tunsil would we take regardless of the quality or number of other recruits? These situations are the most likely to garner "silent" recruits.
