I realize your only reason for being here is to stir the pot but ill play. Which receivers would that be? Did you watch any of the games Tebow played in? Did Denver not being in more weapons for Peyton? Did you see the numerous drops by Thomas? I'm not making excuses, and I'm definitely not comparing Tim to Peyton, but to ignore the facts is something only a hater would do.

I swear I'm not just trying to argue, and ill agree with your first point, but what skill-set are we speaking of? Russell has already busted out of the NFL.

Russell had NFL skills. Nobody ever questioned that. All his problems were off-field distractions that kept him from focusing on football, mostly codeine and probably other drugs.
Something else to keep in mind is Lane Kiffen was his head coach the first 2 years in Oakland. Put a troubled kid like that on a team with Kiffen and that's a sure recipe for disaster.
I have no idea whether or not Russell has been able to put all that behind him. I doubt anybody knows for sure. But if he has and he's now mature enough to really focus on football, he's still young enough at 27 that he can have an impact. If he was willing to come to camp as an unsigned free agent, I'd give him a chance.

That's stupid. Tebow won playoff games in denver. Manning hasn't even done that.

Russell had college skills. Never showed anything in the NFL to merit NFL skills. I'll concede that this would work out for him should he manage to make the roster. He is broke after all.

He certainly had backup worthy skills in the NFL and had a totally respectable second season.

Because a QB is not solely responsible for W/L. Of course, he's also not solely responsible for completion % either but certainly has a larger impact on the latter. Overthrowing and underthrowing WRs (something both Tebow and Russell did a lot) is a better gauge of the ability to throw an accurate pass - which is the statement I was commenting on. Discard it if you wish because it came from a rival - doesn't make it any less true.
Want to turn it into a different conversation about W/L records? OK. Tebow a winner, on and off the field. I admire and like Tebow (and have told the story of how he brought joy to my dying mothers' life. However he is only 8-6 in the pros, but thats much better than Russell's losing record. I'd argue the Broncos were a much better team than the Raiders too. OK, or is that garbage too because I don't have "gator" in my username?
