My analysis of the class (position by position)

The big picture look of this class is very, very different from many of our past classes under Meyer, but particularly under Spurrier.

We used to specialize is bringing in smaller players, who are probably a little faster, but who would have to grow into their position--230 pound defensive ends, 250 pound tackles, 200 pound linebackers who all have to gain serious weight.

Muschamp is bringing guys who actually fit their position. Our tackles are already tackles, our ends are already ends, the linebackers are already linebackers. Look at the RBs and receivers as well--a very different picture. Our "small," speed receiver this year is 5'11" and 170 pounds. That used to be one of our biggest guys.

I like the change. With just 85 slots you can't afford a bunch of 3 year building projects on half your players.

Am I missing something.

I didn't notice either Johnny Townsend, the 4.6 punter who played FS and QB and who Urban Meyer really wanted, or

Trevon Young, the 6'5", 265 lb TE who has only been playing football for 2 years but has very quick feet and great determination.

Admittedly, however, no FB, although, theoretically, Anzalone might play some at FB, he was a pretty good RB in high school.

Interesting analyses, but I am rather astounded that neither of these late additions appeared here.

Or, did I just miss it somehow???

I just posted this analysis before the late signings. In my mind it really doesn't change this class that much.
