Some interesting threads on the unc basketball board:

Ol' Roy looks lost. You know, retirement is not all that bad.

Roy is a Hall of Fame schmuck.

I really wonder what Roy's record would be at (fill in the blank college) and would he be a "Hall of Fame" coach then?
I believe he's a HOF because of being at Kansas and UNC. No one would ever know his name if he was at some other school.

After his pre-season health issue, I wondered if Williams would retire after this season.

I've heard some UNC complain about Roy for years now. Granted he has done well, but they feel they should be doing much better than they do considering the amount of talent they have the roster. They are probably right.

UNC does not have a very talented or experienced roster this year.

Never has a man been more over rated as a coach and under rated as an ________ (input fav derogatory word).

He had a complete personnel turnover this year. Last night his two top scorers were 9-30. He doesn't have the horses this year. I'm sure Carolina fans are looking at what Ky is doing and want a coach like Calipari. I'm hoping NC State puts the wood to them. If that happens Old Roy will be shown the door.

UNC has historically done the least with the most. This is just what UNC looks like without some annoying white kid who stays for 12 years. Still though, he's got a recent title and had a good shot at one last year. Hard to rebound from that kind of turnover.

He's a small-minded man. Trying to ruin Coach Donovan's career by getting his former assistants to lie about circumstances is a prime example of how low he is.
Getting a fan kicked out of a game because of what he said is proof of his insecurity and petty nature.
But posters whining about him is inconsequential. Means less than nothing.
We had some mouth breathers on NBN trying to drum up hostility toward Coach Donovan. Anonymous idiots with their own personal problems shouldn't be in any conversation with rational people.

UNC plays at FSU Saturday. Sagarin has The Semis about a 5 point favorite.
UNCers will go batsh*t if they start out 0-3 in conference.
I've never thought UNC fans really liked Roy. He's a jerk-off, win or lose.

I would imagine he is a tough guy to like... even for his program's fans.
He is probably insufferable when losing.

Why is a Gator fan lurking on a UNC site?

This Gator fan lives in NC and is surrounded by possibly the most arrogant fan base on the planet. I'm also motivated by Williams' a-holeness towards our coach and enjoy his and his rude fans' meltdowns after losses.

I think a lot of it has to do with the cheap shot ole Roy took at Billy back in the day over the Mike Miller recruitment. On top of it, he is one of the most overrated coaches and most disliked coaches in the country.
UNC is one of those blue blood schools for hoops where the academics are a joke for players and they get many, many top recruits. So when they are unranked and losing to Miami, along with his history with Billy, there are a few who like to see what their own fans think.
I, for one, will always enjoy seeing UNC and Duke struggle.

Of course, the administration, or should I perhaps say, the Heavy Duty Boosters are the ones who decide when a coach will leave, not the posters on boards.
