If Muschamp gets a #1 class, will he join Meyer, Zook, and Spurrier as having #1 ranked classes? They will all have had a class while at UF ranked #1 by at least one service right?

It's only a #1 class if it's a consensus between three or four recruiting services. Don't know how many times we've done that. Probably two or three times. This stuff wasn't as sophisticated in the 80s, but I think Galen Hall had back-to-back #1 classes. Right now, we're #1 with ESPN, #2 with Rivals and #3 with 247. I don't think Scout is worth mentioning any more. I don't know how many players USC can sign this year, but if they get to add four or five more, nobody will catch them in this arbitrary competition.

All we really need to do is out recruit our rivals, especially Bama and LSU. So far, this is a well-rounded class and very competitive with the top SEC classes. If we finish strong we will be top three, but probably not #1. I like the way Muschamp recruits, regardless of rankings. Antonio Morrison was not a consensus top 100 recruit last year, but look at him now. I look at prospects like Ivie and think that he's going to make some recruiting experts look really stupid and make Muschamp look even smarter than any of us thought. Sure, I love doing well in the rankings, but what I like even better is seeing freshmen show up ready to help the Gators win. More than ever, I think we have a head coach who is more of a recruiting expert than the "Recruiting Experts."

I thought So Cal was limited to 15. How do they have 17 commits ?

I know that it has been explained before, with the supposed limit of 25 commitments, how does TAMU have 31 and UGA 30 on the ESPN list?

Early enrollees count back towards the previous class. Georgia has had a lot of people transfer or get kicked off their team.

Well one thing is for sure he's not another Ron Zook. I remember after the Bowling Green game the poor guy was already being compared to Zooker. That is out the window now. It seems Florida may have hit gold with a really good young coach who actually loves Florida and considers it his Dream Job! I'm really excited about where the program is going!

That is such a convoluted system. They should just put a limit on players in uniform per year on a team period (walk-on and scholies alike) and forget all the classifications within the classes and early this or that rules.

The year starts in either January or August and the number players you have on your team is set until the next year........period.

I agree there should be a limit yearly, and teams like ga or bama shouldn't be aloud to sign 30+ players even if players leave or transfer. Weve had countless transfers over the last few years and you don't see us signing 30+ kids.

I thought the new rules limited any year no matter how the individuals are counted to 25 per class. Thought this over 30 in one class stuff was out period.

Nope. You can only sign 25 against the 2012 class, but lets say in 2011 you only signed 20 that means you have 5 additional slots that you can backfill to that year as long as they enroll early, meaning you could get up to 30 within the rule.

I think its an ok rule. It really help teams catch up when they get jammed with a small recruiting class one year which usually happens with coaching changes.

15 this year, plus up to 3 more back counted for last class.

Though there is some smoke that USC may direct Kiffin to sign a full class of 25, and sue the NCAA based on the information from the Todd McNair vs NCAA lawsuit.
