This is much better than the last time - it gives time for a real budget, it doesn't hold the country hostage, it hold congress people accountable via their pay, and still is fiscally responsible.

Yeah possibly.
This will pass the house I think, what will be interesting is whether it passes the senate with that clause about not getting paid without a budget. If it does make it through, watch how magically they will find a way to work together and get a compromise done in record time.

I just can't get my head around NEEDING "time to pass a budget" at this point...

I agree on the long term budget, but they are finally letting the dems take heat for it, the dems lose either way. Either they strip the pay provision out and look like selfish hypocrites, or allow it and back themselves into a corner to get something done. Either way, the pubs win.

They don't care that much about the pay. It's peanuts compared to the bribes they receive. This would only increase the acceptance of them.

Only problem with letting the demos own it if they a. don't pass a budget or b. strip out the no pay provision, is who will publicize it? Fox, yes. WSJ, yes. Nobody else. Typical American voter more aware of Octomom's legal problems or Snooki's yeast infection than who is VP.

I think the pubs are picking their fight more carefully and I think its going to be on the sequester
