No WAY they didn't "LIKE" Bryant. He had OU in front early, so UF went after Taylor & Lane and noles went from Green and still going after Collins.

UF always wanted Lane UF had no choice but to take Taylor. Gators also wanted Green and are still recruiting him now. Noles Miami and Gators all want Collins.

Very early on, he has OU waaaaaaaay out in front. He committed, and in that time all the cogs fell into place in the state. Miami had Collins and a couple others committed, we had Lane and at the time, Taylor was a lock, FSU has Green and they were chasing another RB down South, can't remember the kids name. Bama made some movements for him, but never really got in it, and dropped out of it completely when they got Henry.
This is a classic example of why a kid should not commit anywhere until they are 100%++++++ sure they are ready to ride that school for the long haul. Bryant had the potential to have his pick of ANY school in the nation, BUT being committed to OU and shutting everything about his recruiting process down hurt him.
That said, ND is a GREAT choice for him. He is the type of back that could potentially be the head-liner for that program in a couple of years. As far as depth/talent, the quality of the o-line, coaching... I think he made a solid pick.... And we never have to play ND except for a post-season game. So GREAT CHOICE IMHO!

OU was the back-up after UF didn't allow him to commit after his visit last fall (2011) staff was all-in on Lane being the first back in fold not named Kelvin Taylor. Bryant even put up a stink on his twitter about taking Lane over him. Kid is a "me' first recuit...one of his coaches told T-Rob the truth about him as a person and how he treats his teammates...UF never looked back.

I believe Bryant was all about going out of state even before he committed to Oklahoma. Dunno what soured that relationship, but he then was all about playing in the SEC until he found out everyone was filled up (except Auburn, who subsequently fired their coach).

Attitude is EVERYTHING! Sounds like our coaches appreciate character and the lack thereof. I've watched other teams go after players that showed a ME attitude and usually it doesn't turn out very well. I've watched on high school sidelines for years. If your back won't stroke the linemen as equals, they'll have him pounded and out in one season, if the attitude doesn't take him out for personal reasons.

Teams all over the country, Michigan, Louisville.Oregon...have Florida players who are stars on their teams. Uof F can't take everyone and because a player goes elsewhere it doesn't mean we "LOST" him! I love the quote by Gatoraz "e had no choice but to take Taylor"...are you kidding me. He's a great back and we're lucky to have both him and Lane especially when we already have terrific backs on the team.
