It would be nice to see them start winning these close games. Based on what is being posted maybe it will start happening soon.

They have won several close ones this year. This young team has grown up fast and will get better.

Yeah, the future for this program is looking brighter by the day!
It is tough to lose another close one, but the most encouraging thing for me was how we played in the final minutes of both regulation and OT. For the most part very composed and aggressive with different people stepping up, and if anything, almost wanting to make a play too bad perhaps.
Still that's a huge improvement compared to some of the very timid late game play we've seen in recent years (and even earlier this season, in the win against Pacific for example). Not to mention that we were doing that without our only senior and All-SEC player out on the floor.

Ummm...that UT team is top ten in the country with a number 4 ranking in the RPI. To play them to OT without the lone.senior is HUGE!.

play is improved on the court and looks to be getting better and better as we attract higher ranked players. parallel to that, i sense improving interest from fans, etc.
case in point is views to this thread vs the gator men vs lsu thread. women are about 1/4th the number of views, but to get over 1,000 views is somewhat noteworthy. time to capitalize - good play begets more interest and that will get more fans in the stands which attracts the recruits, and helps to get more wins.

It would have been easy for a young team to lose confidence with their leader out. The fact that they fought this out to the end is a big boost and with all of the young talent they have.
Amanda is another example of why we have the best AD in the country. He knows who to place faith in and lets them do what they have to do. I've been a proponent of giving her the time she needs to what needs to be done here. I know that some people think this should have happened sooner. However, in the SEC, it is not easy to build a monster program.

Don't be suprised if this UT team makes it to the Final Four. Both UK and UT are among the best teams in the country and run most of their opponents off the court.
They have excellent talent and the coaching staff is solid.
I guess people expected them to drop off the map when Pat had to retire. Summit built a monster program and although we have a fighting chance with recruiting now against them, they are still benefiting from decades of dominance.
Thankfully, your view isn't shared by our administration, otherwise we would be making yet another coaching change and creating yet more instability in a sport where stability is a must.

We fired the proverbial shot across the bow yesterday against UT! We made a huge STATEMENT yesterday. Anybody in the know on womens college basketball is now aware the the Gators have broken out and are heading for the top. As EastTNgator has pointed out numerous times it will be next season when UF explodes. All the pieces are just about in place. Yesterday, if George was not injured halfway through and we had the additional strength available of Cooper, Dimaite and Peoples (and Mercer shot just a little better) it most likely would have been a 10 point win for UF. Not to mention we handed them the game by missing 2 consecutive foul shots at the very end. The Lady Vols wont be the last good team we rattle or beat.

^^^^^^^THIS!^^^^^^^
If people (the casual fans) would jump on the bandwagon this season just think how it could be next season. If we lived close enough to attend any games, we'd be there.
