2013 Gator Commitment #10: WR Marqui Hawkins of Carver High School, Columbus GA
WR Marqui Hawkins 6-2 190 ****
Carver High School
Columbus, Georgia
5.14.2012 Commitment
**********
Dang! Big, PHYSICAL, plenty of speed, plays hard til the whistle, good hands. Can see why Champ was going after this guy hard. Not that it matters, but I expect him to be a 4 star by next ranking period. He's VERY good. Check it out.

Keep working, Marqui!

This commitment was pretty random but this was the best surprise I've gotten in a while

Looks like a good athlete with a nasty streak on the field. Could help our squad at several different positions.

Excellent post seems to offer a little Harvin with size. He will be a star on the field!

Reminds me of Jujuan Story's high school clips. Great athlete and a little more polished receiver at the same point.

Me too! At the 1:45 mark is ridiculous! No need to question if this guy is a take... one of the top receivers in Georgia and the nation imo

FYI and not that it matters, but ESPN already rates him a 4 star
Hawkins, who is rated a four-star receiver by ESPN. “I love being a receiver because I can run good routes with my speed (4.53). So it made me feel great.”

Not to be too much of a buzzkill but I'm worried about his ability to create separation against SEC dbs. Maybe he has a future at TE?

Marqui appears to be CWM's type of player. Physical, a nasty streak and loves contact. A few more like him won't hurt. Probably could play several positions and be a special teams warrior as well. Welcome to Gainesville Mr. Hawkins!

Why, with 4.5 or better speed, would he have trouble getting separation ?
