Roger Ailes (Fox News) new book
http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/ticket/f...-election.html
Several exerpts:
Re: Relationship with Ruppert Murdoch
“Does Rupert like me? I think so, but it doesn’t matter. When I go up to the magic room in the sky every three months, if my numbers are right, I get to live. If not, I’m killed. Our relationship isn’t about love—it’s about arithmetic. Survival means hitting your numbers. I’ve met or exceeded mine in 56 straight quarters. The reason is: I treat Rupert’s money like it is mine.”
Re: Rubio and Biden
“I like Marco Rubio,” Ailes told a staff meeting of Fox News Latino when talk about the Florida senator being Mitt Romney’s vice-presidential pick was at fever pitch. “But I don’t know about as a vice-presidential candidate. He’s a nice guy, and that role requires kicking the crap out of your opponents.” He paused, thinking about vice presidents he had known. “I have a soft spot for Joe Biden,” he said. “I like him. But he’s dumb as an ashtray.”
On President Obama
“Obama’s the one who never worked a day in his life. He never earned a penny that wasn’t public money. How many fund-raisers does he attend every week? How often does he play basketball and golf? I wish I had that kind of time. He’s lazy, but the media won’t report that.”

What does he have against ashtrays? Biden as VP is the biggest joke going. He was known to be a moron by SNL 20 years ago and now the joke is literally on America. Media brainwashing at its finest.

I think the most telling thing that has transpired in the election is the character assassination of the two VP candidates by the MSM, as if they were questionable picks because they were one bullet away from being President. And Biden is a good choice?
To me, it wasn't Obama that is surprising. Anyone who saw his backgeound knew that he had "friends" to get him where he is. The biggie was Clinton. He was - and still is - a very smart used car salesman. Yet he was elected twice. And I agree that Obama should not have been given a second bite of the apple but what are you going to do? If the general population can be manipulated (and manipulation costs BIG bucks) then we will reap what we sew.
And for all of the Libbies on the board, yes you can say the same thing about W.

Biden can't even put a couple of sentences together anymore without appearing drunk. Yes, only the best and brightest in DC. At least Palin took stands against the establishment. Biden is Animal House's Bluto all grown up.

Here's a funny but entirely unsurprising story Ailes tells about 0bama:
Quote:
During the presidential campaign of 2008, candidate Barack Obama was upset by Fox News, which by then was in its sixth year of cable dominance. A sit-down was arranged with Murdoch and Ailes, who recalls that the meeting took place in a private room at the Waldorf Astoria hotel in Manhattan. (White House spokesman Jay Carney declined to relate the president’s version.) Obama arrived with his aide Robert Gibbs, who seated Ailes directly across from Obama, close enough for Ailes to feel the intention was to intimidate him. He didn’t mind; in fact, he rather appreciated the stagecraft, one political professional to another.
After some pleasantries, Obama got to the point. He was concerned about the way he was being portrayed on Fox, and his real issue wasn’t the news; it was Sean Hannity, who had been battering him every night at nine (and on his radio show, which Fox doesn’t own or control). Ailes didn’t deny that Hannity was anti-Obama. He simply told the candidate not to worry about it. “Nobody who watches Sean’s going to vote for you anyway,” he said.
Obama then asked Ailes what his personal concerns might be. It is a politician’s question that means: What can I do for you? Ailes said he was mainly concerned about Obama’s strength on national-security issues. The candidate assured Ailes that he had nothing to worry about. “Well, why are you going around talking about making cuts in weapons systems?” asked Ailes. “If you’re going to cut, why not at least negotiate them and get something in return?”
Obama said that Ailes had been misinformed; he was not advocating unilateral cuts. “He said this looking me right in the eyes,” says Ailes. “He never dropped his gaze, which is the usual tell. It was as good a lie as anyone ever told me. I said, ‘Senator, I just watched someone say exactly that on my computer screen before coming over here. Maybe it wasn’t you, but it sure looked like you and sounded like you. I think it was you.’ ”
At that point, Gibbs stood and announced that the session was over. “I don’t think he liked the meeting very much,” says Ailes.

Like I said before, Obama chose Biden because Biden makes him look like Ghandi with Einstein's brain.

The problem with putting people on government programs whether the local, state or federal level is that you absolutely cannot get them off. A hand up becomes a lifestyle and they end up being supported by us for life.
Obama is the perfect example. Creating an affirmative action program that gets him into Columbia and it morphs into a lifetime of public funding of every job the man has had except for one year with a law firm where they made him work and he resented every minute of it.
And taxpayers will support him for the rest of his life.

No...didn't say that. He benefited from Affirmative Action as did Michelle and both have been on our payroll since. Look at their resumes!!!!!
My point is exactly what others have brought up...most fed programs offering a hand up in times of need (housing vouchers, food stamps, day care assistance, medicaid) are not set up for a finite period of say 2 years max. It is damn hard getting people off these programs once they are on.
Same with politicians who become accustomed to cashing the people's checks....
