Jeff did check Burton to a fly route.... under threw him/good defensive play but he definitely checked that route. That being said he has a lot of growing to do and with a stronger line his upside is good. Jacoby is more polished though as far as reading defenses,,,both lack in the accuracy department at times. Jeff's x factor is his legs (see Vandy game).

He doesn't need to "feel" the backside pressure. He needs to read it.

Could use a better clock in his head, too, but presnap is the biggest issue from what I can tell.

Coach Boom will not open up the QB comp, he is to stubborn, great Coach, should have tried Brissett for a few series, reading defense and picking up blitzes made a difference, ask UL

I think the most commonly stated rationale for starting Driskel this year was his running ability in light of our weak o'line. Now that the year is over, and both have been proven to be true, I think next year we should have a very good O'line with some of the underclassmen studs pushing the leftovers from this line. With that said, the mobility of a QB shouldn't be the determining factor anymore for who does or doesn't start. Coach should give all QB's an opportunity. But he shouldn't wait forever to make a decision, because it isn't fair to Brisett to waste his career as a backup when we all know he could start somewhere. Despite what people think, I still believe he has pro potential.

CWM made it pretty clear that Jeff is the starting QB at the end of the year press
conference. It is up to Jacoby to make a decision from there. I think Jacoby has pro potential as well.

Agreed. When Muschamp said he believes we can win with both guys I think he meant it 100%.

With our weak offensive line Driskel was the better choice because he is more likely to take off and run. We won 11 games.

With a good offensive line JB is the choice because he prefers to stay in the pocket and make plays with his arm. Our line wasnt going to give him the time he needed.

I particularly liked when he used his X-factor legs against FSU to scramble, but rather than run upfield, he ran back into the pocket to pick up and intenional grounding. Definitely an innovating use of running ability.

I don't agree with this statement but I'm not going to lie, it made me laugh pretty loud.

Wasn't there for this game, No. I am making a general statement about the current state of the wide out position. I have seen an inability to separate and come back for the ball for a couple seasons now.

I think we need to do a lot more spread option type stuff if our offense is going to be worth a crap with Driskel at the helm. I have a hard time envisioning him flourishing in a traditional offense.

I agree. Driskel needs to continue to grow, but if he throws for 2,000 and runs for 700 ( in which he would have done this year minus sack yards) continue to minimize mistakes and manage the game, the gators will have another 11 win season in which i will be glad to take every year

Jeff can be a very, very good D1 QB, but he has a long, long way to go. HOpe he gets there.
I don't see how he can do that. No player on the team should be safe. If Driskel is being outperformed during the off-season, than a change needs to be made. Driskel has not earned that right to be an automatic starter.
