In all seriousness, i wish both sides would come up with an agreement to get this fixed. I am not the person to pretend both sides don't have incompetent people. I have conservative values but I have little faith in man leading men.
I wish the sides could agree too, but there seems to be little incentive to try to reach across the isle, rather than just blame the other side for being to rigid and stubborn. That way, each side can say I told you so when things fail.

You know I would have no problem paying higher taxes if we could agree to a surplus budget which would require cuts. No sigh of that happening though.

we should either have a true free market or a Single Payer

i am unsure why the article completely overlooks the revenue side of entitlement equation, and pretends there is no income stream there. The spending paid by revenue needs to be cancelled out leaving the gap that is unaccounted for..
You do know that the entitlement programs are now paying out more than they are taking in which is a recipe for disaster.

Yes you did stop our offense very well while there but yes I was holding a grudge. From the day you got here and every time I hear you speak and your excitement about coaching our Gators, working your tale off and being a straight shooter, you are now one of my all time favorite coaches. Thanks coach.

Frankly, my discomfort stems from knowing that there are people driving on the same roads, working in the same buildings, eating in the same restaurants and breathing the same air as I do who actually fell for the BS Obama spewed during his campaigns, and actually voted for him -- twice!

It's amazing that these people are even capable of existing in society on a daily basis. I guess when the government money all runs out, we will see just how well they are able to survive, huh?

Hate to say this, but it will never be addressed in any meaningful way. In our government's eyes, nothing is broken.

Things get fixed when they need to, and not a moment sooner. That's democracy. If you want a gov't that solves problems early or gets out in front of them, institute an elightened dictatorship.

its discomforting knowing that you actually spend time thinking about that

its also discomforting knowing that you really believe that if your candidate won, America would be some utopic place for you right now

the mind is a funny thing

Now when have I ever even hinted this is what I believe? I said from the start that Romney wasn't the answer. There was still enough unknown about him so as to make him, IMO, the better choice. After all, we ALL knew Obama wasn't the answer - yet, so many still voted for him. That's the amazing part.

In the past four years, Obama has proven ONE thing for certain. That is, he is definitely NOT the answer to cure America's ills.

Even if the debt ceiling was repealed (i.e., an open end debt ceiling), Congress - and not the President - has to authorize or appropriate every dollar spent, or, every dollar increase in the public debt. No president may ever appropriate or spend a single tax dollar - Congress is the only governing body that can do that.
