Ole Miss gets a commitment from 4 star OT Andy Bauer
I usually dont post about a random teams commitment but there was a lot of discussion about Ole Miss last cycle. It looks like they have no plans on slowing down this cycle either. Baur did visit Florida earlier in the year. So far his cycle Ole Miss has gotten commitments from Mississippi kids and Baur is from Missouri. It will be interesting to see who they can get nationally this time. Florida LB target Clifton Garret Plainfield, IL (Plainfield) took a visit to Ole Miss this weekend.
Dont think the Bauer family is getting paid Ole Miss just won a recruiting battle
So what you are saying is that after their last class and so far this kid....you don't think there is ANYTHING fishy going on down there? There are a lot of sports radio hosts and national media people that don't agree with you.

Coach Muschamp: When I saw that we hired you I was very upset due to your clinics while you were at Auburn on "How to stop Florida's offense." Yes you did stop our offense very well while there but yes I was holding a grudge. From the day you got here and every time I hear you speak and your excitement about coaching our Gators, working your tale off and being a straight shooter, you are now one of my all time favorite coaches. Thanks coach.

How is this kid fishey at all? You think a kid who went around the country visiting schools and is from the St Louis suburbs picked Ole Miss because he is getting paid? Think about that.
We just got out recruited for this kid it happens. Nothing more fishey than any other college in America. Recruiting is all about relationships. Lols at sports radio host
Does it really matter this early on anyway? There is a buzz @ Ole Miss and a lot of kids are checking it out, lets see how consistent they can be." A blind hog "
Imagine if NC State just started reeling in 5 stars for no reason. People would be like 'wtf is going in there'. Its just very odd for a middle of the road program to just turn it on like that.

The rebels used to be a powerhouse. Get the right coach and things start goin up again. Also last cycle was a bit of a perfect storm with the nkemdiche kid.
I'd bet the UF coaches had many kids above him on our board. Already have two commits at guard if you count Paul and then Dorsey. If we were looking at this kid for OT, then David Sharpe and Denzel Ward are both ahead of him and we already have a commit with Benjamin Knox. Looks like were in pretty good shape with the offensive line this cycle.

I am betting they would have loved to get Bauer we just lost a recruiting battle
Yes, they were a national power under Johnny Vaught in the 50s and 60s, but that pretty much ended when Archie Manning graduated in 1970.
They went in the toilet after Archie, but when they hired Steve Sloan away from Texas Tech in the late '70s (hot coach at the time), there was a huge buzz around Ole Miss. They signed the no. 1 O-Line class and the no. 1 QB, John Fourcade out of New Orleans. They backed that up with another top class the next year (or maybe Fourcade was in the second great class. Its been awhile). They were the only blemish on Notre Dame's national champion's record in, I believe, 1977. But they could not sustain it and sunk into the abyss, where they have remained, except for 1990 and the Eli Manning years, ever since.
I look for that to happen again. They will have a spurt of success, Freeze will leave for Tennessee or Auburn or Texas, etc., and they will be right back in the mire.

Yup. The Rebels are definitely cheating. They had to have paid off guys like Tunsil, Conner and Laron Treadwell. A closer look at each player's situation definitely reeks of illegal activity which, by the way, isn't happening anywhere else in the SEC or around the country.
Even if none of this is ever proven, even if Freeze just happens to be a solid recruiter with a vision recruits are buying into, and even if it just sounds lazy and ignorant to call them cheaters, just keep doing it. It'll come out sooner or later. I think. Then you'll look like a jenius.

It should be stated that I believe MS created more pro football players per capita than any other state in the country. And as I recall it wasn't that close. So there is talent in the state.
But what I argued a few months ago and what I'll argue now is that if you look over the past 10+ years, Ole Miss has pulled most of it's 4 and 5-star talent from MS, JUCO or in a few cases immediately adjacent states (LA, AL, TN and AR). They have RARELY and I mean very rarely, ever pulled quality players outside this profile..
So suddenly last year, they pulled 5-stars Nkemdiche (who I understand) from GA, Treadwell from IL, Tunsil from FL, plus 4-star Adeboyejo from TX, and 6 3-star players from non-adjacent states.
All 3 of their 5-stars players, 4 of their 4-stars, and 10 of their 3-stars all came from out of state. That's 17 of their class of 27 from out of state. That's only 10 players from MS and 3 of those were JUCOs.
That's what, more than anything else makes me highly suspicious of their last class.
