Well, Jenkins and Haden were the two best corners on the team when they were TF. Why can't a higher rated more polished kid do the same? It's not like we have any ALL SEC lock down corners on the field. Hell, one of our starting corners is so good, he's now moving to WR.
I'm not one of those guys who assumes any TF will make serious impacts, but there's just something about this kid and his confidence and swagger. Just looks too much like the type to stay off the field.

Obviously havent seen any practices, but how does playing more nickel and dime affect the line personnel with regards to the buck, end. Powell/Fowler, Bullard.....would Easley also rotate on the end in such formation

That's exactly what we have right now. Florida has 3 really good corners in Roberson Purifoy and Watkins. Purifoy is helping out at WR not because of his corner play but how bad our WR play is. Muschamp continues to say Purifoy is staying at corner although that could change I guess. Then you add a player like Poole into the mix. You have other back ups like Riggs and and Brown. There is a lot of experience and talent on this team at corner.
VH3 could start at corner but we are not weak at corner like we were when those two came in. VH3 should get playing time in nickle but taking a starting spot is def not guaranteed especially over players as talented as the group we have now.

I hear ya. We have solid corners, but it's not like we're loaded with first rounders. We'll see if any make ALL SEC preseason this yr. I'm not guaranteeing it by any means, anyway. I just hope if he is the best on the team, he gets the nod.

It is almost a guarantee we will have all SEC preseason corners this year not that it matters much Roberson will be on the list.
If he is the best on the team he will play when has Muschamp not done that and why would he not play the best player?
we play more nickle than anything so even if VH3 doesn't start you should see him play a lot
projected starters for nickle
CB Purifoy
NB Poole
S Riggs
S Watkins
CB Roberson
With Purifoy playing some WR VH3 should see plenty of time in nickel

Easley is going to play end and tackle next year probably in base personnel and nickle/dime. Only time you might see Fowler or Bullard inside is if we are trying to get our 4 best pass rushers on the field. Ball can play some BUCK as well.
I personally like Easley at end when we are playing some of the run heavy teams and would play him more at tackle against passing teams. How much tackle he plays is going to depend on how good the other inside players play. Hopefully we have guys step up so Easley and Bullard can just rotate at SSDE against the power teams on early downs.

Would prefer Easley at tackle instead of end on passing downs

I would think its because of the lack of depth and the size and speed he has....just a guess

Yeah, I would think Easley will be playing strictly DT, especially with the size of Bullard and Fowler at DE. But what the hell do I know.

Like to see what Young and Lawing do with the possibility of having Easley at T, while having Powell & Fowler on the same side for strictly pass rush scheme

Fowler and Bullard are too good on the outside to justify Easley being out there too much. The real question is who is going to back up Fowler and Bullard.
Cox? Mccalister?
Where is Quinteze Williams going to end up? Will Joey Ivie play some at end?
The end depth isn't as deep this year as last year. Or so it seems right now.

We don't? What about d fowler, n ball and Mcallister? That's 3 guys that can play buck....what's considered depth for you, just wondering. Plus Powell can rotate into the buck position as needed and ball can play linebacker to take Powell spot...

Williams has been moved to RT. This time last year we were not even sure Bullard was going to get into UF.
BUCK Fowler or Powell/ Ball/McCalister
DT/Jacobs /Easley
DT/Orr/Cummings/Reed
SDDE/Easley / Bullard
Then you have Ivey Cox Bostwick Riles Bratley all fighting to get into the rotation.

McCallister is in the running but he hasn't played a down yet and still needs to gain weight. Roster says he is 238 but Muschamp said he was 230.
My point was we dont have enough depth at BUCK to try and move Powell to LB. Plus spring is the time you experiment not in August. Powell and Fowler at BUCK Ball contiues to play LB and help at BUCK.

Isn't Fowler at 270-280 a little large to be playing Buck?

Yeah, he even carried it well last yr, too.
Would certain players play Buck under certain circumstances? I always assumed our Buck would stand off the line... Didn't Fowler play with his hand down like an end most of the yr?

I think cox will be a good backup this year for us at DE. We have enough D linemen to be better than last year. We should have more sacks, and TFL than last year. Maybe no Floyd type players but solid and we will play 8-10 players on the Dline.
