ESPN?? The only thing they have worth watching is their 30 for 30 series. The commentary on their other shows is either stale, scripted, gimmicky, or all three.

So one of the shows designed to illicit controversy to draw ratings said something we didn't like?
The count on people getting bothered, no different than radio sports talk shows, to pay attention only encourages it to happen again.

Gimme a good alternative to espn.com. Please!! I've tried and always go back. I never watch any of those espn shows I.e. mike and mike, pti etc. can't stand them.

Accept it, people watch PTI just like they watch First Take. If it didn't get ratings (and thus advertisers) it wouldn't be on the air.
Plain and simple, this isn't even a topic if we had just taken care of business on Sunday. I hate to think we need this as motiviation, but hopefully it rekindles the fire in our basketball team.

I've been using yahoosports mostly. It's not as nice a layout as espn but the content has more substance IMO. Especially with some of the huge storied they've broken lately. The only thing I'll check espn for on occasion is their nfl rumors section.

I implemented the same strategy in about '06 and couldn't agree more.

ESPN calls way too many of the shots and,IMHO, hurts college sports by always mentioning things like "This kid should leave early he'll be a first rounder". This sometimes hapens when the player is a freshman. If players had to stay for at least two
years where would we be today!

I generally like Wilbon when he talks about pro sports but hate him when he talks about college stuff - mostly because he knows next to nothing about college stuff.

You guys have short memories.
Yes, he hates UF. All you have to do is remember the Chris Leak booing deal and the accompanying fall out with the racism accusations. Wilbon made it clear he hated the Gators then and said he would never forgive UF fans.

Exactly - they know that if they post something about Tiger or Kobe or the Patriots et al they'll get plenty of negative comments and lots of controversy. And they're fine with that - in fact they like it. They don't care what the comments say, they just want the hits.

Exactly, you can not avoid them all the time as they have games, particularly UF game, on sometimes. You do not have to watch all of their useless noise.

I hate the seminole chop.
I guess I dont have a problem with a non-gator fan being annoyed by our cheers. In fact, it makes sense.

If, on the other hand, Wilbon had said something complementary of Billy Donovan, this board would be trying to canonize him.

He was too freaking dumb to realize that the fans were booing taking Tebow out of the game after he had just broken a total of 10 tackles on his last two runs (which happened to be the last two plays) that covered more than 50 yards. The fans were still standing (I was one of them), jacked up to watch Tebow pick up the last nine yards on the next play, when Urban takes him out of the game. It had NOTHING TO DO WITH CHRIS.

I think Yahoosports is #1 visited sports website. Think ESPN is 3rd. Agreed that Yahoo desperately needs to improve their layout. Content is much better on yahoo.
