Jay Bilas
Normally I'm the last one to call out announcers/analysts, but a lot of these guys -- particularly the CBS guys -- seem to have an agenda to cause controversy and not tell it how it is.
Jay Bilas is not one of those guys. He is 5x better than just about anyone we have to listen to IMO. Am I the only one with this mindset?

He sometimes comes off a like a Duke homer, but I think they revoke your degree if you don't pull that. Otherwise, his breakdowns are among the best in the business. Far, far more analytical than others.

He has a law degree so he isn't just some hack or former player. He is intelligent, opinionated in a productive way and takes it seriously and it shows.

He is a Duke homer but if it was Mike Miller I would expect the same commentary

Best there is period. Honestly, he should be the chair of a newly restructured NCAA. The guy gets it.

Been saying for years he is far and away the best talent on the entire ESPN network. I'm talking all sports, not just college hoops.

Wow, sure is a lot of man-love for Bilas here. He's not bad, but he's not nearly as smart as he thinks he is. He was prattling on today about Middle Tennessee, angry that they got in over some of his beloved ACC teams. I've seen Middle Tennessee live this year, and they have a very good, very deserving team.
It was very reminiscent of the multi-day conniption fit he had in 2006 about lowly George Mason making the field over his beloved ACC teams. Yeah, that George Mason team that eliminated Michigan State, UNC, and UConn on their way to the Final Four. Dude never did eat crow over that.
So, I guess what I'm saying is that he should drop the 'L' from his name and just go by "Jay Bias."

I don't remember him having a hissy-fit over George Mason in 06. I do remember he was upset over VCU getting in 2 years ago and they also went to the Final 4. Hey, nobody's perfect. He's the best analyst in the business. I also like Gottlieb a lot, and he's pretty polarizing.

So he knows more or is smarter than most because he has a law degree? I will stop there and not post reasons I don't agree.

I really really liked Bilas until he got on his anti-NCAA agenda. He is overall good, funny and objective, but against the NCAA he peddles half-truths and misinformation.

I like him overall but at times I wish he'd check his ego a bit.

Can't believe he is upset over some of the mid majors making it in over Virginia. Virginia lost to SEVEN teams with an RPI of over 100, and gave Old Dominion one of their 4 or 5 wins. The only major teams who have a gripe imo are Tennessee and Baylor.

I can believe if he is so smart, he does not understand that the criteria of a committee whose membership changes every year also changes every year. So this year who you lost to hurt you worse. [Though a counter argument is UF with no bad losses was under seeded by that criteria.]
Next year who you beat may matter more.

It's taken me five years to like him again after he called Billy unprofessional for backing out of the Magic job.
