Since he started a thread suggesting Scotty Wilbekin was the best Gator pg ever?

People overrated Scottie this season because they were so dead set on proving he should have been starting over Erv all along. He's adequate but a great PG would put our team in better position in late game situations.

No one close to T. Green. Then maybe Moten. Like I said in another thread. SW being from G'ville is safe and adequate at home. Away, he rattles easily and is too slow to break a press. He plays like its a half-court game and its obvious he shouldn't get the minutes he has been getting.

Billy shoo's him up court all the time. He won't break that habit of walking it up and dribbling like he is running out the clock. He needs to sit a lot more until quits this stuff.

Scottie tried to defend Henderson well today, but struggled running the team. Love his effort most of the time, but the one time he threw the ball away at half court then loafed up the floor to allow the trailer to get a basket was un-excusable IMO.

Scottie is a nice player for us but I feel like sometimes he plays the position a little too mechanically, if that makes sense. He lacks the improvisational ability of some of our previous PGs. Sometimes the called play isn't going to be there and he needs to improvise.

He's too one-dimensional. When the pressures on, he over dribbles that causes turnovers. I think he starts the opening game then Hill takes his spot by conference play.

Which play of his did not not like today? Was it:

1. when Henderson hit his upper arm for the "turnover" in the first half?

It's not really surprising he "came back down to Earth." He showed no offensive threat last year, so teams were basically daring him to shoot, and taking away the pass. He took advantage of that, and put together a very very good January. Defenses now have figured out how to defend him better, and his production has dropped considerably. Now he has to make the jump and step up his game. It might not be possible since he isn't an elite athlete. But I still think he is good/very good for us.

Given the way you and mad crucified our point guard last year after every loss, hell, even after wins, I find it more than a bit hypocritical that you are both crickets about Wilbekins play of late. Doesn't surprise me though, about either of you
