Haven't watched it but it sounds like a rather expensive epic. I don't understand how it could be financed and make any money. Even a modest two-hour movie today cost tens of millions of dollars. They actually get their money back with ads on the History Channel? Those must be some expensive ads.

I guess I'll have to give it another try. But I found the first episode to be void and without form, with very little context and even less character development. It was cringe worthy boring to me so I turned it off after about 45 minutes.
I also second that God didn't sound manly enough either, or intimidating at all. I mean, for real yo, He's the Master of the Universe not a metrosexual! People crumbled to the ground when they heard His voice. So I don't know where the producers picked up on that sissified tone from the Bible, but then again there are many fancy translations nowadays.

According to the latest Nielsens, released Tuesday, Sunday night’s telecast of “The Bible,” produced by husband-and-wife team Mark Burnett and Roma Downey for basic cable’s History channel, managed to attract more viewers than anything on broadcast network NBC … during the entire week.
The second installment of this five-part mini-series airing at 8-10 p.m. Sundays through Easter — the first foray into scripted drama for “Survivor” creator Burnett — drew 10.8 million viewers, good for number one in its timeslot and number 11 overall for the week.

I haven't seen anywhere what events will be covered but I'm sure it will begin with, or at least include, the Resurrection of our Lord. And may continue on to include the Ascension. But after that I'm not sure because there is not all that much time left in this last segment to cover other events in the New Testament. We shall see.
