Not true. You made the analogy "Just like SEC football". The SEC has earned its reputation over time through winning 7 national titles in a row, against the best the rest of the nation has to offer.
That's a lot more convincing than your "eye test" of this year's Big 10 basketball. Your analogy is poor.

LoL, thanks. I never said anything about prior national championships. Im not sure where that came from. I never said the Big 10 is "exactly like the SEC in every way".
What I meant was, in any given year the SEC is widely recognized as the best football conference and the polls indicate that with many ranked teams. Therefore everyone in the SEC has a good strength of schedule and has many opportunities to pick up quality wins (or "good losses"). Exactly what is happening with Big 10 basketball right now.
Also its not "my eye test". Go and look at the polls.

Back to the original thread title Wisc-IU . I'm happy whenever Tom Crean loses.

I think his point is valid. The analogy is poor. As he pointed out the SEC has earned the benefit of the doubt. It wasn't always like that. Remember that we had to fight to get UF to the championship game in 06. After 7 years of dominance and a perfect BCC title game record, the voters have reluctantly accepted the SEC is flat out superior.

The argument is not about conference strength, that's just a factor. The issue is bias. We played one of the top teams in their conference and pounded them, yet Indiana is going to get more credit for losing to that same team than we did for beating them? That's the definition of bullspit. And Michigan lost to a team that, Big 10 or not, is one of the worst in the nation and dropped two spots...if we had lost to Kentucky in football we would have dropped at least ten and been out of contention for a BCS bowl (call that analogous to being a four seed or better).

You're right. And, IU lost to that team we blew out twice.

Also handled Marquette handily, and they've easily beaten Syracuse, Pittsburgh twice, Notre Dame, Connecticut, Georgetown, Wisconsin, USC... Also beat Air Force who beat New Mexico, UNLV, Colorado St.. Our opponents that we have beaten have not played easy schedules...

I'm sorry but just because it takes the voters 7 years to acknowledge something that was pretty obvious does not mean it should always work that way. And again, something that is analogous does not imply it's exactly identical in every way. The big ten is getting favored just like the sec, whether they "earned it" or not.
I look at the big ten and see much better teams than the sec. That being said, the bias toward them may certainly be over inflated sometimes. Losing to Penn state is unforgivable.
