Big man Patric Young led the Gators roll over the Alabama Crimson Tide 61-51 in a hard fought victory. Young scored 13 points, pulled down 9 rebounds and had 2 steals with 1 block to earn 76 value credits. Kenny Boynton busted out of a slump with a vengence, scoring his first point of 11-in-a-row at the 15 minute mark of the 2nd half, bringing the Gators from 8 down to a 3-point lead. Kenny earned 48 value credits. After Boynton, the next four Gators were bunched together earning 38 to 30 credits. It was a team effort with Patric and Kenny a cut above the rest.
The Gators finally won a close game. Florida was behind 27-37 before Boynton caught fire leading the Gators on a 15-0 run and out to a 42-37 lead. Boynton scored 16 points in a eight minute span helping the Gators extend their final margin to 10. Florida played well against a physical Tide team and only committed 4 turnovers. The excellent ball control, tough defense and outstanding indivual performances by Young and Boynton were the difference in the game.
