Anyone downloaded the IE10 for Windows 7 yet? I have heard so much from both sides regarding the pros and cons of Windows 8, and have been skeptical to try the new IE10 designed for Windows 7---just curious what others think of, or if any have tried it yet?

Too many other browsers out there that are just as good or better even though I use IE 10 some.

I tried it for a minute, went back to my Chrome, then actually went ahead and totally disabled it (IE).

It's slow and bloated. The reason they were popular was because there werent too many options and its the default browser that comes with Windows. People who don't know any better just use it because its there, thus its "popular".

I generally use Chrome but use IE almost as much since virtually all my enterprise level clients standardize on IE. They do this for support reasons. IE is supported and they can support their customers better by having IE as the standard browser.

I cannot detect speed difference between IE and Chrome in the last couple of versions of IE. Back in the IE 7 and 8 days complex sites would be noticeably quicker on Chrome than IE but not now. It’s fun and easy to pick on IE but much of the complaints don’t really have much basis at this point.

The thing that made Chrome faster was that they dedicated memory to each tab where as IE did not. Also, Chrome used a really cool feature that pre resolved DNS names that were on any given website that you were on. So instead of DNS being resolved on your PC, Google chrome resolved the names to IP of links on a website before you even clicked them.

IE may have caught up with the ideas of Chrome but I still can't bring myself to use it. Although what you say is definitely true, some websites/applications/software requires that awful browser so unfortunately, we will be stuck using it until Chrome gains some more market share and users start to demand compatibility with IE only applications.

Safari is pretty good in its own right as well.
