How many times have we played a Kentucky team on the outside of the bubble (entering the game) in Rupp? Thanks in advance.
Stop pretending that this game meant nothing. This isn't 07 where we were a 1 seed regardless of a couple of late season losses. This team likely lost 2 seed lines today, by losing to another mediocre team.

No question this game hurt our placement a bit.

You're helping my point. You are adding reason for Kentucky to value the game more than us. Go ahead and throw in that it was senior day.

Stop pretending that this game meant something. We didn't lose anything, at worst we may have damaged our slight chances at getting a #1 seed, but those weren't looking too good anyway.

That's your opinion and you're entitled to it. I was snarky with Player because he was snarky with me...what's you're excuse?

Wes makes a good point.
Seed will not matter to this team if it can't learn how to win a close game.

Of the four games that would include an SEC Tournament championship appearance and the road game today in Lexington...today's was easily the least important.

You are the second person that has downplayed this game into least importance or meaningless. I don't get that at all. You have a chance to beat your rival into the NIT and show some freaking ballz on the road. We fell flat on our faces. Are you not concerned about the poor play?

Good teams win games even when the opponent values the game more than they do. Especially when the other team is a mediocre bubble team.
We lost any shot we had at a 1. If we win out, we don't get a 1, even with help. We lost any reasonable shot at a 2. We would need to win out and get a LOT of help. We hurt our chances at a 3, as we will likely have to win out to get one of these without a ton of help. Another loss to a mediocre team "that wants the game more" will lead to a likely 4-5.
Teams are mediocre and on the outside of the bubble for a reason. Good teams beat mediocre teams on the road. At least some of the time. We are 0-6 against mediocre to good competition on the road.

We didn't play well at the end of the game...no doubt. But you can't discount the fact that there was no carrot dangling at the end of the stick for today. If they do this in a tournament setting, I'll be happy to say that you guys were right (well, I won't be happy, but you get the idea). To me this isn't about who is right and who isn't right. I'm just not willing to get bent out of shape about a loss that has no tangible penalty associated with it (if others want to, that's their right). Rivalries and all that are fun, but it's nothing to get yourself beat up over when you have just won the SEC Championship and are in great shape for an SEC Tournament Championship and still in great shape for a top 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament. I think things are fine...just my opinion.

So are you saying we are not a good team? Or that this is not a required component of being a good team.

I agree that we lost a #1 seed possibility, but I don't think there was much to begin with when you looked at the contenders.
I think we are no worse than a #3 seed if we win the SEC Tournament, and we very well may have been a #3 seed had we beaten Kentucky. Just my opinion, we won't have a better idea on that until we see how things play out. If we don't win the SEC Tournament, then maybe we deserve a #4 seed anyway.

If we had won out, there was no chance that they didn't hand us a 2 seed. Now, we would need a lot of help to get there. We will likely get a 3 seed if we win out. If we lost in the tournament, we would have been a 3-4 (depending on when we lost). Now, if we lose in the tournament, we are probably a 4-5. So we basically slid down one seeding line today. That is important and is something we should have been playing hard to earn.

at least we have enough of a body of work to know that in no uncertain terms we can't play tough games away from home and win. We know exactly what we need to work on...just sayin'...here's to the team having a shift around all of that and us supporting their efforts. Go Gators. We still have time for tweakage.

So have you really gotten mad at any loss this year? Just curious...

No, I never really considered an undefeated season a possibility. We'll still win the SEC, SEC Tournament, and have a decent shot at making the Final Four. Do that and we've had a tremendous season. We can expect to pick up losses on the way, and we can expect that when those losses come we'll be able to point to plenty of frustrations of things that we didn't do right. It's part of the ride.

P. Young had a bad game. That was the difference in my opinion. Maybe I am wrong but feel we would have won the game had his playing time been changed to Yuguete and Prather. Last stats I saw he had 2 rebounds and was 5 of 11. Prather had 9 rebounds and Yeguete 6. Young does not seem to be quick enough to rebound the ball high and just slaps it. Not putting him down as he plays hard, but it seemed like he hurt us today.

It wasn't just Rosario. Patric missed two 3 foot hook shots that were virtually uncontested. Wilberkin threw a pass into no man's land. Boynton couldn't buy an outside shot. It was a collective effort. The only player that played consistently well was Murphy. Prather also gave us a lot of positive energy.

We are still a 2 seed right now, but we can't lose our first game in SEC tourney.

I have a feeling that's not the case. I think we are at best getting a 3 now and maybe a 4 with a bad SEC tourney. That said I don't think it is that big of deal anyway. Much depends on the luck of the draw for the teams you match up with best.

Seems like I've been reading this exact post for a month now. "It wasn't just player A with a bad game, but players B, and C played poorly as well. Although players D and E had a good game."
This group appears to just be having a tough time to all play well together at the same time right now, which is very troubling. No wonder you haven't seen them play a complete game in a while.

I would play Prather over Rosario and in late, close game situations, put in Frasier over Boyton.
True, Frasier is young and may not handle the pressure and Boyton has ice in his blood, but his touch is also ice cold.
As to why we've changed the game plan to go inside more may be due to Billy understands that we can't go far jacking up 30 3s.
