Why does Mike Rosario play hot potato with the basketball?
Does this guy value the ball?

It honestly just started happening the last few games and I have no idea why he's reverted back to his old ways.

Agreed, he didn't do that for 3/4th of the year. He has had a rough last 3 games.

He needs to stop doing no look passes. Needs to play more in control. It seems like once he starts making mistakes, it snowballs for him. When he let the game come to him, he is a good player.
I love Mike but he played a poor game today. Hopefully, he will go back to playing the way he was a few weeks back.

Kidding aside... Billy needs to tell him that another one of those passes will bench him for the remainder of a game.
He threw away at leat a couple... including a critical run-out, and barely got away with several others.
That pass has to stop.

When I coached kids as young as 10 yrs old, I said "If you are careless with the ball, then you could care less. And you are coming out of the game"
If Billy would have called a TO after his 1st turnover and yanked him, it would have sent a clear signal. Of course hindsights 20/20 and all...............

I dont get the continued threads singling out Rosario and he probably gets pulled quicker than anybody. Yes, he had a crap game handling the ball, but he still had more assists than KB and wilbekin combined and had a steal. And he wasn't the one throwing the ball all around the court at games end. Pretty much everyone had a bad game except Murphy.

He has hurt us tremendously with some ghastly passes. He needs to cherish the ball and every possession. It appears he is frustrated, because he probably has been told to take fewer shots. From the South Carolina game to the Tennessee game he averaged 12 shots a game. The last three he has averaged 7.
It's probably pissing him off that his shots are being reduced, and Boynton is still allowed to shoot at will despite having a significantly lower field goal percentage particularly from 3.

Billy needs to let the boys play street ball sometimes, not dribble and pass game, we need to be agressive, dont worry we have one and out coming soon, since our last NC we have played like this with all combination of players, someone is getting burned out?

It seems he doesn't fear Billy's ability to punish him anymore as the season is almost over.

He's a playground player, an Allen Iverson type. Billy has done his best to reel him in, but he has probably been playing playground ball his entire life so it's going to come out of him every once in a while.

I think the difference is that Rosario's turnovers are often the result of a continued flair for the dramatic. It may not make sense, but a turnover is less palatable when it is consistently for the same reason. Rosario defers the easy pass and opts for some silly, over-the-shoulder flip.
I know a turnover is a turnover is a turnover... but images of them sailing over his shoulders and into the student section tend to stick out.
All this being said... I am not sure what board you are reading. Boynton and Wilbekin are getting killed on here.

I'm reading this board and its not even close. Guess I am in a small minority that think he actually made a couple of nice assists/steals amongst all his turnovers. BTW, I think the hot dog plays have nothing to do with "being told to take less shots". Total conjecture.
You do have a new perspective tho. Over the season I think some of these turnovers come from lack of communication with his teammates, guys out of position etc.

No more weed within 24 hr of a game. He needs to be thinking clearly.
When he's not, he will give a cross court assist to people in 2nd row of the stands.
A beautiful no look assist to an opponent. A driving layup straight off backboard to no one in particular.
When Rosario makes bad decisions like that, its a sign that Prather and Frazier II should play more minutes.
When Mike plays well and thinks clearly, he's one of the Gators' best players and a good teammate..
