N. Carolina was left out after winning it in 2009.

I think there are many more. I remember Louisville in 86-87 and NC State in 82-83. I heard somebody mention a Kentucky in the late 70's too. But, I forget exactly when.

Bet Coach Cal cares about winning the conference tournament now.

I believe on SportCenter they said UK will be the 5th team to not make the tourney after winning it the previous season

I think this game is important for us to win - to give our team confidence they can win on the road against an SEC opponent.
Other than that - not sure how it would affect us.
I don't even want to make a prediction...but of course am hoping with a healthy squad we are a force again.

A win is much bigger for uk than it is for florida. I don't think the gators get more than a 2 or 3 seed regardless. This could well put uk in or out of the tourney. And the refs will not be kind to the gators.
All that said, without noel, its hard to see kentucky going far in the tourney.

Kentucky did stay in the race for the SEC title. It the Georgia loss to officially end it but had they won their game and Vandy not get hit with that technical late in the game, they could have played for a share of the SEC title. As for cohesiveness, you lose a guy like Noel and it will kill your cohesiveness. It happened to us when Wil went down. Had Noel not gotten hurt, it's possible we might have needed to win at Rupp to share the SEC title with them.

The Vandy technical had a very slight impact on the game. It was not some huge turning point. They were going to lose big with or without that series. They lost by several touchdowns, not by a safety.

Yeah, that was a lot of "if"s... Even one "if" is nonsense when discussing sports, imo.
I mean, if Auburn won all of their sec games, they'd be conference champs.

KY was not cohesive before Noel went down.
We need to step on their throats and not let up. Killer instinct. We need to crush them beyond hope. Specially on the road against a hostile crowd.
Go Gators!

+1 True - they have struggled throughout the season. The loss of Noel compounded the situation.

I have a hard time thinking that any game in Rupp is an easy win for us. Throw in Ky's greater need to win, freshman day, last regular season game of the year, and I have a really really hard time.
