Would not trade Donavon for any coach even if they threw in Nick Saban for football. What a great teacher of the game and life. I hope he's here for a long time.

The joy in coaching is helping a group of kids accomplish something they couldn't accomplish by themselves.

You said it, Billy. Thanks for being a Gator.

Maybe that's why he answers the rare Kenny Boynton air ball in practice with: "Hey, somebody shut the doors! It's messing up Kenny's shot!"

Nice, thanks for posting. I appreciate having Donovan whether it's for one more game or one thousand more games.

Very good article.
He learned, a while ago, that, from a Geological Perspective, which is really the only one that works, winning and/or losing, has no importance whatsoever. It is playing the game as well as you can that is important, no matter what game you are playing, for example, the game of life.

The more I learn about him, the more I am in awe of Billy Donovan.
I think many of us believe SOS is the greatest Gator coach to coach here, but I'm seeing Billy right there and maybe ahead.
Who'd a thunk it -- the greatest Florida coach being from basketball and not football! Once upon a time that would have been heresy!

One of my more bleak times in Gator sports was when I heard he was leaving. I usually take things in stride but that one really knocked me off balance for a bit.

He was wrong about the number of Elite Eights. Billy has five, not four. I think he forgot about 2000. He referenced the last two.

Are questioning rick reilly or the fact checkers at espn's 'journalistic' integrity? Seriously, you can trust everything they write as fact, just ask lennay kekua.

I hope the mamas and daddies of every good high school player out there reads that article. Who wouldn't want to send their kid to UF?

I was devastated. The 2007 FF was painful because of all the speculation.
So happy he decided to return.

Glad to see Donovan getting some recognition, from Rick Reilly no less. Great article.

Much deserved praise for an outstanding coach who by all accounts is an even better person. So glad Billy's a Gator!
