I do think the "earning a degree from UF" fulfills the construct of scholar athlete.
A kid who plays for 1 year, even if they retain continued interest and contact with the school and perform well in the NBA doesn't make it as a scholar athlete.
That appears to me to be a very good idea. Unfortunately, today, most of the better players leave before accomplishing the degree part, although they may be multi-billionaires, but, after all, is that what college basketball is about - I think, only if you are Cali.
