But I'm not convinced, sorry. Baltimore will now throw a boatload of cash at him because he timed his rise to perfection. I'm just not sold that he's amongst the best QBs in the league in the way he's about to get paid, it would seem. I can arguably think of half a dozen I'd take ahead of him... (Brady, Brees, Manning, Rodgers, and maybe Ryan, as well as Luck/Griffin if they continue their trajectory...) but I believe he's going to get his pay, and then masterfully underperform on his new deal.

I've watched Flacco many times, and I have to say I agree with you. One thing about Flacco, though: He's a winner. Plain and simple. Similar to Eli Manning, he can outplay the best on the biggest stage.
The backbone of Baltimore's franchise is GM Ozzie Newsome. Because of his astute personnel evaluation, and ability to find gems in the mid-late rounds, the Ravens will always have the necessary talent to get to the playoffs. Flacco will always have the talent around him to win. I'm not sure that he'll "masterfully" underperform, but agree there are better QBs in the league.

Although I'm not sure why this thread is littered with pictures of his girl. I'd take my wife over that woman any day....

Once again... Limey...
I am not British but I love your Gatorized Union Jack!
(Hey, here is an idea:
For other Gator Fans from different country orgins... It might be cool to design your own Gator Flags... incorporating the flag's patterns and colors with the Gator Head Logo or other Gator emblems, etc.
Then, have a contest on Gator Country. Everyone submit their flag's entry. Then we vote to see who is the winner!
Just the creative out pouring to see what people come up with would be entertaining!
Maybe this idea will have its own thread one day?
This could mushroom into T-shirts.... T-shirt sales online.
Gorgeous ladies could then be seen on campus walking around with scantly, low-cut tops with Albert incorporated into their country's flag on the front.
Long live the Republic of Wadiya!
I live out of state... but heck... I would start coming back to G-ville more in order to check out those beautiful international gals!
And the wearing of these various Gatorized flags by fans as they travel on vacations would spread Albert's fame around the world!

I think these mega-contracts severely handicap a team. Football isn't basketball. You have 53 players to rely on and not just a single superstar or two. Good luck in replicating the success in the future.
But yeah, I would accept being in his shoes. Is it me or do the pics of him and his wife look like she wears the pants in the family. Maybe that is her attraction, she knows how to "discipline" him.

REMEMBER!!! It is a team sport ... none of those guys named would excel with a poor team.
I would love to see some old time QB's throw the ball 40 or 50 times in a game.
ANYWAY????

Unbelievable to think that a year ago this guy's job was in question as many said he could not be the guy. Wow, life is a trip and God is good. Guess Tebow's next.

He did it when he had to. No interceptions in the playoffs and a bit of luck, and there you go. I don't think he deserves the contract he got, but hey, if that's what Baltimore thinks he's worth, then that's their call. He's not Brady or Rodgers, or even Peyton imho, but he's probably in the top 6 or so qb's in the league.

POOR young Joe...
Because of the TAX BITE, it makes Flacco 2nd BEST "take home" paid player In the NFL allowing Drew Brees to take home more after taxes.
Lot more state taxes in the Maryland area than other NFL cities.
