We're not done seeing those above us fall.
I just want us to take care of business on Saturday and win the SEC tourney. After that, whatever it is, it is!

Don't know who is selling that. Win out and we should be a 1.

Tied at 69 with about 30 secs to go. GT can hold for one shot.

Let Gonzaga, Duke or Indiana lose. UF is in excellent shape as long as they care of business at Rupp.

Tonight Lunardi bumped us up to a two replacing Miami. It wasn't on his bracketology page yet, but was in the ESPN national blog.

Yep we win out and some of the other teams go down in their league tourney and we have a great shot.

Thanks coach.

Our record vs. top 50 isn't that good though compared to everyone above us so maybe a high 2 is the best we will be able to do.

Crazy talk. A 1 seed does not have 100% chance of winning the first game. Just because it has never happened doesn't mean anything for future results. There have been some 1 seeds win in OT or by 1 point.

Obviously it doesn't mean it's 100%, but it has never happened so it definitely means something. Why has it never happened? Not because the 1 seeds are that much better, but because the 16 seeds are that much worse. They are usually teams that have no business in the tourney but get in as auto bids. The 15, 14, 13 etc seeds end up being teams that may actually deserve to get in. AKA an easier road to a deeper tourney run for 1 seeds.
The main point of my post was that the top 3 seeds all have a decent shot of winning it all as was pointed out in another post. However, if you look at how far each seed advances on average it's a much easier path for a 1 to go deeper which shows in the stats. As I've already said - give the #1 seeds path to any other position and their record would certainly improve over time.

Not enough wins against Top 50 teams (not enough games overall, either) to warrant a number one seed. Florida is a 2/3 so long as it closes out the year well which means they need to win at Kentucky and win at least 1 or 2 in the SEC Tournament.
What's important is to not fall to a 4 seed which would probably mean playing a 1 seed in the third round. Still, Florida is good enough and experienced enough that they don't need to fear anyone.

You are wayyy off...
If we win vs UK, then we will be at worst a 3 seed.
If we then win on Friday, we will be at worst a 2 seed.
If we win out, we will be a 1 seed.
