This is a bad, BAD loss for Miami. Add in losses to Wake Forest, FL Gulf Coast, and Indiana State, and you have a poor argument for even a #3 seed at this point. Miami is such a pretender. Arguing they deserve to be a high seed because "they're winning the ACC!" is dumb. The ACC is horrible this year, only two ranked teams.

I think this is a bit of an over reaction. Remember duke is going to be a 1 seed and Miami throttled them at home (without Kelly) and went to the wire with them in Durham. They're just in a rut now and it happens...even to our 07 team.
Miami has some serious talent. Larkin and Kadji are probably both better than anyone we have. I wouldn't want to play them.

we win at UK and we'll be ranked higher than both G'town and um. Win the SEC tournament and we'll be seed higher than both.

I watched Miami earlier in the season a bit and to me, it seems like they are playing noticeably slower and/or out of rhythm. It wouldn't surprise me if they lost to Clemson on Saturday.

Tiny St. Leo
I know it doesn't actually come into play ... but didn't Miami even lose to tiny St. Leo of Pasco County during a preseason exhibition?

Miami is a good team with lots of experience (much like the Gators), but they don't have "serious talent". According to Draft Express, Kadji is the 59th best NBA prospect (includes all draft eligible players). Larkin isn't in the top 100, but is listed as the 44th best sophomore prospect. No other Miami player other than Kadji is listed in the top 100. By contrast, Patric Young is the 38th best overall prospect.

Take Kadji away and they are a bubble team. Unfotunately for them, their center that a few folks fell in love with has disappeared the last few games. They are still very good and probably end up with a 3 seed assuming they beat Clemson and get to the ACC finals. I'd be fine with the Gators playing the Canes in the tourney, probably in the sweet 16 or elite 8, doubt Miami would score 60, tho.
Remember all those close games that they won awhile back that everybody loved and said it showed their mental toughness, now we are seeing the other side of it, with the media calling them tired and fatigued for losing close. The ball doesnt always bounce your way. I'll take blow out wins every time.

If Miami's performance this season demonstrates anything, it's that Jim Larranga can coach.
Bad losses, which are losses to teams ranked worse than 100 in RPI, do matter. There is no way Miami will make a #1 seed, and they may have to win out to get to #2.

This. KenPom had them pretty high on the luck metric, a metric UF predictably is low in.
