I honestly started this thread because I've gotten it wrong as much as anyone. Now we are all on even ground.
Now, don't get me started on Braxton Ugbu... Ogbe... Ogbueze!

Ogbueze is more difficult that Yeguete, by quite a bit.
Personally, I think that when Webster made the mistake of creating an American English Dictionary primarily so that people would know what the words in the Constitution mean, he cursed everyone to being criticized for incorrect spelling and he also created what Joseph Mayer Rice called, in a wonderful article written in the mid 1890s: "The Futility of the Spelling Grind."
The key is communication, and spelling is simply not very important. Anyone who uses the letters Yeg - and you know you are speaking of Yeguete. I doubt seriously if anyone ever misunderstands who is being spoken of because of misspellings.
Below is an example:
I cdnuolt blveiee taht I cluod aulaclty uesdnatnrd waht I was rdgnieg The phaonmneal pweor of the hmuan mnid Aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer inwaht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoatnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer be in the rghit pclae. The rset can be a taotl mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit a porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe. I understand what you are saying, but spell like that on an application and see if you get called in for an interview. On forums I get it, but like it or not we judge intelligence of a writer we have never met by how they spell.

Ironically, the ending of braxtons last name is spelled in the exact same manner as yeguete's. Just change the t to a z.
So we now know how to spell both!
