Pam Brewer! Now that is a blast from the past. I wonder what became of her?

I was involved in the UF civil rights movement at the tail end of the John's Committee and pressure - ineffective as I recall - was brought to bear on some supporting faculty members. Don't remember anything of the anti-gay agenda, though I think that was probably used more as a tool than a goal. This was before the 1964 Civil Rights bill was passed and implemented and almost all Gainesville restaurants, etc. were still segregated. There were black students at UF, but not many, and of course none on any school teams.

That was at the end of "in loco parentis", when women students had to wear dresses to class and up until 7:00pm and had dorm curfews. Ancient history.

Yes, imagine criticizing someone just because he tried to root out gays and desegregationists as being subversive.

I was there when UF had its first black football player, Willie Jackson. That was the late 60s, when I was in graduate school.

I was gone by then. Do you remember the "panty raid" and riot on 13th and Univ after UF beat #3 "Bama in Tuscaloosa - '63 season I think? One of only two home losses for the Bear for his career. Bonfire set at the intersection and fist fights with cops. Spurrier would have been on the JV squad.

Someone somewhere must have those old pics. I think they were published in the Alligator.
Another memory from those days is "The Garbage Man." It was a movie that premiered in Gainesville, and one of the fraternities (I think it was SAE) hosted the lead actress at a dinner before the showing. The premier itself took place at the old State Theater. That is, until the theater manager stopped the movie about halfway through. The honored lead actress and others involved in the film left Gainesville in the middle of the night.
The movie finally turned up at the old drive-in theater. What a piece of garbage.

I don't remember Charlatan at all, just the pics. Funny how memory can be so selective.

An all-natural 38-25-38, are you kidding me!?! All you old geezer Gators need to fan out and search all your closets, garages, attics, etc. for a copy of that magazine.

Ah, now that I see that picture, I remember the Charlatan.
As I recall, the "nude picture" was of Pam lying nude on her stomach (somewhere on campus grass, supposedly), with everything of special interest, except for her butt and some cleavage, appropriately hidden.

It appears Selig's glasses are fogging up in that picture.
A quick google search of "Pamela Brewer" show the first three entries as:
1. a clinical psychologist,
2. a ceramic artist, and
3. a yoga instructor.
Any idea if our coed is one of them?

Law, I'm not unnaturally giddy about it . . . I'm naturally giddy about it.

I certainly remember the game, but I went home that weekend so missed out on any "festivities."
