Yep, the coach apparently coached his players to throw the ball up in the air immediately after the catch so they could not be fouled. Clearly that strategy in not iron clad.

If that is the case, then the coach is to blame...gotta feel bad for the kid that gave the ball back.
Either way, that is an incredible way to win and this kid will remember that for the rest of his life. Sportscenter is all over it!
Absolutely crazy that there was time for the kid to intercept the inbounds pass, dump the ball down the court and still have time for another catch and release with enough energy on the ball to sail nearly 3/4 of the court. Wow. That's as strange as it gets.
The first thought that came to my mind (well, after the "wow" part, ) was that there is no way that all took place in less than three seconds; I wonder what the delay was between the first touch in bounds and the actual start of the game clock. That said, the rest of it is just flukey; seems reasonable for the kid to just throw it up, but he should have either thrown it higher up in the air or further down the court. The ensuing shot was Parsons-esque, good for that kid for hitting it. Feel bad for the kid that turned it over.

Coach Muschamp: When I saw that we hired you I was very upset due to your clinics while you were at Auburn on "How to stop Florida's offense." Yes you did stop our offense very well while there but yes I was holding a grudge. From the day you got here and every time I hear you speak and your excitement about coaching our Gators, working your tale off and being a straight shooter, you are now one of my all time favorite coaches. Thanks coach.

Go GATORS!
,WESGATORS
Yeah, that was my thought. "Throw the ball as high as freaking possible" actually seems like a pretty decent play in that situation, the kid just couldn't get it very high or very far.
I don't mind the strategy, unfortunately he just did a poor job getting the ball high and far to prevent the other team from catching it with time in the middle of the court.
Kudos to the refs for somehow getting that call right without the benefit of replay. That was so close and they called it right.
Both of those towns neighbor mine. It's all anyone talks about.
You certainly can't blame anything on the kid who threw the ball away. The odds that someone grabs the ball so cleanly and gets a shot off are so long, much less that the guy makes it.
Also, he was trying to make a pass. You can see in the video that the other player calls for the ball.

Anyone else notice the discrepancy between the clock on the screen and the ones above the backboard? Looks like he was still touching the ball when the backboard went red...
