I mean, it's nice for Meyer to say what he did, but Tebow's already rich. The last person anybody should feel sorry or stand up for is Tebow.
People talk about Tim like he's some kind of punching bag nationally, but he has as much going for him as any player in professional sports. If he never wins another GAME, it won't matter at all.

Nope. The University of Florida paid dearly for the two crystal balls -- with more than money can buy. And why would you tear down Tebow's statue? What's he done to warrant that?

I just thought that since the Meyer era was such a nightmarish blot on our football history people would want to eradicate fully.

I don't know, man. I guess sarcasm is a little bit harder to detect for some over a message board than I thought...

Not really. I don't think a team-more specifically a defense-that wins eleven games is much of an indication that we paid dearly for anything Meyer really did. It was made up mostly of his players.
It really wasn't much bigger of a mess than Spurrier left Zook with. Looking at both situations realistically, Muschamp was dealt a much better hand than Zook was. Many actually felt Muschamp underachieved with his first team in Gainesville.

that would basically make the concept of the ring of honor a total joke

Why are you trying to turn this into yet another Meyer versus Spurrier thread? Don't you think we've had enough of those the last few weeks?

Oh yes he will. The criteria are public. There isn't a vote. Automatic. National Championship HC = ROH. He's overqualified with two.

Why limit them to the south endzone? Fans throughout BHG would probably like to take a shot. I know several Bull Gators would.

If its going to happen it will be a very long time from now. Can you imagine him at midfield on an OSU bye week? He'd be booed by at least 50% (likely more) of the crowd. I just don't think it's in the cards for now.

I don't want to do that. I have too much love for this University and these players and for what we've built." - Urban Liar

Reminds me of Spurrier showing up on a USCe off week.

Urban did not do half what SOS did for Gator football. If not for SOS, UM would never have coached here because we would not have been the same school. UM adopted a great group of players from Zook and then with TT made a great run. What did he do when they were gone? He accomplished a lot here but he also left this program in worse shape than it was when he arrived. TT deserves just as much credit as UM does for his success here while he was coach. Coach Strong deserves just as much credit to. In fact, without Strong talking UM out of going for it on 4th in his 1st SECCG, UM may have only 1 SECC and 1 NCC trophy.

First point: How so, how was our program in worse shape when Meyer left than the one he inherited- I mean he inherited a program that had lost 5 games each of the previous 3 seasons and took them to a title, he left a program that had lost 7 games over the previous 3 seasons in total and had just the previous year brought in what many analysts regarded as one of the greatest recruiting hauls in college football history.
Second Point- If I take out the Bob Stoops years Spurrier could never win the big one at all.

Huh? who thought Muschamp underacheived his first year? No body expected us to be anything especially with that schedule.

I certainly agree with you. As far as I'm concerned he'll always be a great Gator! He spent 6 years at UF and only one was not a good one. We had 5 very good years including 2 great years with National Championship Teams. He recruited great guys to wear the Orange and the Blue!
I would love to see Tim Tebow as a winning QB in a Super Bowl! And as someone mentioned it would be neat if Urban Meyer was the coach. Never thought about Meyer being in the NFL but maybe it could happen. You never know.

unfortunately based on what the jets did to him with their smear campaign of his career this last year, I think Tebow's chances of NFL success are shot.

I stand with Urban, 100%. He was a great Gator coach...2 National Championships...Quit the whining already, makes you sound like a spoiled little girl...(-;
Disclaimer: this is by no means an attack on a fellow Gator fan...
