I liked what I saw tonight, and I love that there is no quit despite the rough starts. Let's go and win the series and bring our ACC record to 4-2 (lost the first game to Duke before winning the next two as well). Agree with DD11, 5-6 with a series win over Miami is much better than the alternative.

Missed the first 7 innings. (Had to go to philharmonic event, even wife apologized).
More importantly, how did the starting pitching look??? By the score, I'm guessing it must have been at least ok.?

Don't we already have 7 losses?

You are correct. I'm so used to counting a win over Miami that I only had us down for 6 losses as well. The general point still stands, though. 5-7 would be the official number we're looking for!

Series win tomorrow would be much needed. But Miami is also not a good team by any stretch. As anemic offensively as we are, and just as mentally and physically error proved as the young Gators. Still, always nice to win over them and winning is contagious and this team desperately needed a shot in the arm. Let's hope for a rubber match win.

When was the last time Miami did not finish in the top 20 of the RPI? Do you consider them that sort of team this year? If so, why? I'd say a top 20 RPI team is a good team.

Simpson battled very well. Threw too many pitches because he seemed to go deep into a LOT of counts....although I felt like he got ahead in most counts and then started to nibble.
While he didn't have many easy innings, he also had more than his share of bad luck. Had 2-3 guys that wer jammed or fooled on pitches and blooped something or had infield singles. Also had guys reach on back to back bunts. Overall a good outing, just needs to be more efficient so he can go deeper into games.
