There is nothing magical about any given number of points per game. All 8 guys who play could average 1 point per game apiece and the team could well be undefeated, if the opponents only average 5 points per game.
This is just as absurd as that guy who records what the past 12 national champions have done and then, in you are 1/10th of a point below the scoring average he says you don't fit.

I disagree, Billy Donovan runs a system offense based on highball screens, pick and pops and pick and rolls. The point guard is going to get a lot of opportunities to score and needs to be an efficient scorer. It can happen from three point line, with drives to the hoop or from the free-throw line.
This is a system offense and it has historically relied on a point guard who can score over 12 points per game. It is also a very balanced offense and when Billy's teams are rolling he typically has five guys that score near double figures.
Billy Donovan has never had a single guy scoring in the 20's and he has rarely, if ever, had a point guard that averages less than 10 per game. These are indisputable facts, and I find it interesting that we are as successful as we have been with a point guard scoring less than 10 points per game.
Scotty brings an awful lot to the game, much like Justin Hamilton did, he brings an amazing defensive game, and he is a better scorer and distributor then Hamilton was. The question is, will he be able to find his offenses to keep us in games when Boynton, Rosario and Murphy are cold, much like Green did when teams zoned up against Horford and Noah or like Walker did when Kenny was off and Chandler did one of his disappearing acts. I hope so, because history has shown that we will need him to.
