However, I think my statement stands on it's own merits. They've already closed new applications for the federal governments pre-existing conditions program because it was "costing more than they expected". I think it is reasonable, even rational, to expect more of the same across the entire program as it rolls out.

No, the point is that the report was based upon the notion of the cost containment provision being phased out.

In other words, that is what would happen "if" not "what is."

So the right wing echo chamber either failed to discuss this most important point or they simply buried it deep in their stories. Whatever the case, it's perpetuating a lie.

As a matter of principle and conservatism I don't vote on things I don't control or aren't sure things (I might add that I won't be around in 75 years - the time period of the prediction - to collect, nor would I be bold enough to predict that far out). Again, AHCA has not been fully implemented yet. Some of the benefits went in first, causing short term rises in costs.

No financial assessment can be made until after 2015 at the earliest.
