it's called logic. you should try it sometime

The war in Lebanon included "sickening slaughter" on both sides. Israel forces continued deep into Lebanon and bombed areas of suspected Hamas habitation with thousands of civilians killed, many more than the Israelis suffered, and it's government was roundly criticized by many for overreaching.

Exactly. No rational exchange of ideas and potential solutions is allowed. Obama does not and will not meet with leading members of Congress, thereby insulating himself from debate and the exchange of ideas.
As stated in a very recent article published by the left-leaning New York Times, Obama may be known as the Chicken Little President. Everything is a self-made crisis.

The context is "the OP posted a link to an article saying Hagel was smeared because he never made a statement he clearly did".

reading, it does a mind good

MJW - you accused me of calling conservative racists and I asked you to produced a single time that I did that. You didn't. Maybe it's time for you to take a man pill and admit you made that crap up.

Oh dear. I have posted on this board since 2009. The history only goes back a few months. I will be happy to point it out to you the next time you do it. As well as the next time you defend racist comments from liberals.

So, you defend his anti-Semitic comments? Please don't ask me to give "proof" of his comments. They arre all over this thread and all over the internet.
What I want to know is this; do you or do you not defend Hagel's anti-Semitic comments?

He said absolutely nothing that was anti-semitic. Get real, dude. Calling it the Jewish Lobby is what it is, saying Israel has committed crimes against the Palestinians is what they're doing over there, and believing Israel brings hatred on the US in that region is also a fact.
If he had said we should go over there and imprison every Muslim in a concentration camp you'd probably be cheering for it.

Hegel was picked because he hates the US military and Obama wants to have a Republican as the Sec of Def while he is tearing it down.
And from Obama's perspective, Hagel being anti-Semitic is just a bonus.

Again, context is everything and the meaning of those words, which were truthful and balanced, change significantly when taken out of context. If you don't think that's a smear then we have different standards for both truth and fair treatment of people's words, whether they are left, right, or from Mars.

What anti-semetic comments? It is unbelievable that you have been called out now for evidence numerous times on this thread and still post without offering any at all.
Put up or shut-up or keep embarrassing yourself.

1 Hagel left blood on foreign soil for the US as an enlisted man - not drafted, volunteered - and has worked for years on veteran affairs, beginning in the Reagan Adminstration. If he is anti-military, as opposed to against sending young men and women to die on stupid snipe hunts dreamed up by guys in office buildings, he has earned that right. We know how much you love the power of government and no doubt trying to intelligently limit it's overreaching overseas must just rub you the wrong way.
2 Do you have some proof of the anti-semetic charge? Nobody else on this board does. If so, please post it.
3 In deference to TH rules I will refrain saying how I would characterize your less than accurate comments and instead quote an Omaha Rabbi:
"An Israeli-born, Omaha-based rabbi who has known Chuck Hagel for many years said charges that the former Nebraska senator, and potential nominee for secretary of defense, is somehow anti-Israel or anti-Semitic are "extremely stupid."
"I thought we were done with this," said Aryeh Azriel, the rabbi at Temple Israel in Omaha, Neb., where Hagel has been a longtime regular presence, in an interview Friday with The Huffington Post. "I thought we were done already with the [childishness] of being Jewish where everyone who says something critical about Israel needs to be labeled an anti-Semite. I find this extremely stupid, and definitely not helpful."
Azriel, who also penned a letter published Friday in the Omaha World-Herald defending Hagel's pro-Israel bona fides, told The Huffington Post he has known the former senator for many years, and has been "completely astonished by the attacks on his character, on his identity and his ability."..
Azriel said that in numerous one-on-one meetings with Hagel over the years, as well as several appearances by the senator before Azriel's congregation, he has emerged with a similar sense of Hagel's personal attachment and support for Israel.
"We developed a very close relationship," Azriel said. "I cannot tell you how many times we spent talking, with him wanting to know about my childhood in Israel, what it was like having to go to the basement in apartment building I lived with my parents to hide from bombings. He was deeply interested in my personal experiences."
The fact that Hagel has at times spoken out against a monolithic view of what it means to be pro-Israel, Azriel said, was something that had endeared him to the Midwestern community of Jews.
"He represents the best in the way people are brought up here," said Azriel, who moved to Omaha from Israel 25 years ago. "This is what I like about him and it is part of the Nebraska piece: He's definitely independent in his thinking, and people want truthful politicians, people who speak their minds, people who are not moved as marionettes on strings."" http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/1...n_2347948.html
