We may be the first team to go from top 10 to bottom 10.
Hope this team has more pride to fight back.

We lose a double dip tonight with basketball losing too. I need to break out an old John Wayne movie. He never loses.

Well, we're making progress:
6-run loss
5-run loss
3-run loss in extra innings
1-run loss in extra innings
We can expect a close win on Friday night, a 3- to 4- run win on Saturday, and then a more comfortable win on Sunday.
Go GATORS!

This is brutal.

From the day you got here and every time I hear you speak and your excitement about coaching our Gators, working your tale off and being a straight shooter, you are now one of my all time favorite coaches. Thanks coach.

Never thought that pitching would be a problem for us. We are scoring some runs, but can't hold any team down, too many walks, location is way off. Hope its youth and not that he missed on some pitchers.

It really is the pitching that's the biggest problem right now. We knew this team wasn't going to hit, but you had to figure they'd win a lot of 3-2 type games, especially against the smaller schools. Instead they've allowed 38 runs in the last 5 games. Ryan Harris was supposed to be a lock down guy out of the bullpen, but opposing hitters are now batting .341 against him. That's just a horrible number in the BBCOR era.

When the Gators were going through some rough games my grandfather used to say "It's time to wish for a good ole rainout". LOL. We can't even get a rainout.

At this early stage Sully is throwing lots of guys out there to see who can step it up. Some guys look a bit promising like Jay Carmichael, Parker Danciu and Tucker Simpson but it really has been a struggle with our veteran guys like Kish, Johnny Magliozzi, Harris, and Daniel Gibson.
Kish looks to be more of a closer. His pitch count is killing him right now to where we can't get two innings out of him as a starter. Like to see us swap Mags as the mid week starter and give Kish a look as the closer. Mags can look good for a few innings until teams understand his pitch patterns. Still llike Harris but he needs to work on getting ahead then using his curve to get guys out. That is his out pitch. Gibson is really just a lefty match-up guy at this point. We still have not identified who can be out Sunday starter yet. Eric Hanhold has some potential so lets see how he does this week against Miami in his second start. I know many have asked but where is Bobby Poyman? He has to be injured? Oh, almosty forgot, Shafer seems best as a closer type role as well. He can be good for one to two innings then teams start to get a beat on him. He is really a two pitch guy and when one is a bit off, well you get the picture.

You're right but the thing that gives me hope is that we have been in a position to win all of these games. I think once we settle on a rotation and Sully stretches the starters out closer to the 100 pitch mark, this team could be pretty solid by the end of the year. I mean I don't see Omaha in the immediate future, but could still make a run at a regional this year.

The experienced guys really just need to get their stuff together and start pitching like the team leaders that they should be. Kish has a career ERA under 2 and got the last outs to send the Gators to Omaha last year. Gibson is a pedigree left hander who scouts rate as the 2nd best pro prospect on the Gators roster. Magliozzi throws in the mid 90's with a nasty wipeout breaking ball. All 3 were top 100 national recruits out of high school and were drafted. Time for them to start pitching like it.
