Not a good career move. Not professional track but "keeping your options open." He isn't Bolt but he can make money in track. Keep your eye on the ball and quit being jumpy. JMHO

Sounds like he wants to do both, just like in college. I see nothing wrong with that. A good way to stay in shape throughout the the year.

Yeah seems pretty clear:

“Jeff has no intention of leaving football. He just loves track and wants to do both,” Demps’ agent Daniel Rose said.

Football conditioning and rigors do not promote top track performance.

Yep. And I'm pretty sure Usain Bolt doesn't take shots to the knees in practice every day either.

Honestly he needs to decide- Bo and Deion could do Baseball and Football because the seasons didn't really overlap all that much and they're relatively close geographically tracks world wide.
Additionally, tracks way, way too demanding to do both-- you can part time the NFL-- be super fast and just do returns and maybe some 3rd down stuff but top level sprinting is far, far more competitive there's only what like 40 professional 100m guys on the planet and only probably 10 or so make career (as opposed to middle class) kind of money.

Jeff will make more money in Track than he ever will in Football, he'll just have to go overseas.
Track Stars do pretty well in Europe.

I wouldn't take an agent's word on anything. I would love to see him in play some football. He's in a tough spot.

I think it's one or the other. Demps is not considered valuable enough to not treat football as a full time job IMO. I think best case (football) scenario is he tries track for a couple years and then comes back to football with a 100% commitment.

I don't know guys....maybe he will just stick with track and not ever go back to football.

Yes you did stop our offense very well while there but yes I was holding a grudge. From the day you got here and every time I hear you speak and your excitement about coaching our Gators, working your tale off and being a straight shooter, you are now one of my all time favorite coaches. Thanks coach.

$375k is the league minimum in football. Track guys like Jeff make that much?
