GB: He was one of our all time great defensive players. We sorta came to expect that kind of catch when he was a Gator. He was a quality person too during his college career. Thanks for sharing.

When den Dekker was a Gator deep center field was where triples went to die.

Will probably start the year in AAA ball (the number 68 he wears in the video suggests that too) but should make it to the bigs sometime this summer. A scout assesses him:

He’s a good defender. He throws good enough. He’s got some power — not great power, but he’s got some power. He’s making adjustments. I’ve been there [to watch Binghamton] three times. Every time he’s gotten better with the bat. He’s not flailing. He’s not trying to pull the ball. He’s making adjustments. It looks natural. He will cut down on his strikeouts with this new approach. He’s more patient. He’s going to be OK.

Ahh, The Eastern League--what a great place to watch baseball--great fans, ballparks, and atmosphere. One of the better milb leagues out there.
